Bear Paw Cafe

75 N Main St, St. George, UT

Crema's Take

This St. George institution delivers old-school diner comfort with a serious craft angle—their house-made hot chocolate is the real deal, far beyond instant mixes, and their breakfast spreads (think trappers omelets and incredible waffles) arrive in generous portions that won't disappoint. The vibe is genuinely welcoming and family-friendly, though fair warning that the cozy, close-together tables mean you're really part of the bustling community energy, especially during weekend brunch. Whether you're stopping by for a leisurely sit or meeting friends, Bear Paw leans into that warm, unpretentious charm where the staff actually cares and the food tastes like someone's grandmother knew what she was doing.

Best kind of diner. I came here my second day in town and it was so good I came back two more times. Excellent food with varied flavors and options for breakfast and lunch. Super friendly staff. Lauren was my server all three times and she was attentive and great to chat with. She remembered me from the day before and was genuinely pleased to see me. I had stuffed French toast, the two-story club, and the apple oatmeal pecan pancakes. All were amazing with the pancakes being my favorite. Very generous portions and incredibly tasty. The atmosphere is comfortable and I liked that the chairs were on wheels. I also love that as a single diner, I was never treated like I was less than or forced to sit at the counter, which has happened at other restaurants to me. My only regrets are that I didn’t come here my first day and that they aren’t open for dinner. I would have eaten here nearly every meal if they were.

This looked like a cool resturant, however the tables are very close together and don't offer you a lot of room. I ordered the French toast while my husband ordered the trappers omelet with home made fries. His meal was very good. Two thumbs up for the fries, they were amazing. My French toast was soft and mushy in the middle which I didn't care for.

Recommend going ! I went after Christmas bur before new years during brunch and it was packed! Pros -High recommend the Bear paw hot chocolate. This ain’t no Swiss miss . This is “the good stuff.” -“fries” are actually medallions but are delicious -they cook with a generous amount of butter so flavorful ! -eggs Benedict and French toast chefs kiss -a lot of the chairs are Rolley chairs! which is convenient and fun! -attentive staff Cons -The seating space is a little small -The food is cooked with a lot of butter so for those with conditions like acid reflux that’s a draw back- BUT! Upon asking they will make your meal with a substitution, like pam. -There’s no space inside for waiting for your table. So you have to wait outside. But they do take phone numbers so you can walk around Downtown instead. -parking is a little lacking. You might have to park down the street

Bear Paw Cafe was such a great breakfast stop. The waffles were incredible, the ham was flavorful and fresh big portion and the hot chocolate hit the spot. It does get busy, so going a little earlier makes the experience even better. The team is warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They’re right here in St George, and I absolutely recommend them. As a Utah realtor, I’m always out exploring local spots, and this one is worth the visit.

Expect a classic, comforting American breakfast at Bear Paw Cafe. So yum! Our server, Tiffany, was kind and quick, and the portions were huge. Definitely a spot we’ll come back to!
