The Cherry Pit Cafe and Pie Shop

Crema's Take
“This beloved Greensboro spot is really about the pies—a house specialty that draws loyal regulars back again and again, though the cherry and fruit varieties seem to shine brightest. Beyond the desserts, they've built a solid all-day menu with satisfying breakfast sandwiches, lunch plates, and lighter fare that make it a genuine community gathering place where families and travelers alike feel welcome. The tight quarters and busy atmosphere are part of its homey charm, and friendly counter service keeps things running smoothly despite the crowds.”

First time ordering pies here. The key lime pie was good but needed more key lime. The chocolate pie's crust was pretty raw. Not browned enough. The flavors were good.
We stopped here for a quick lunch on the way to the airport. I ordered the Turkey Melt with a salad and cherry vinaigrette dressing. He got the burger and fries. They were both delicious. They also have Cheerwine as one of the drink choices, yum!! Service was quick and friendly. Would have gotten a slice of pie, but maybe next time when we are in the area.
Hey yall 😘 stopped in for breakfast and of course PIE! Isn't it pretty? Tasty too, cherry! 🍒 Breakfast, egg cheese crossiant was ok. Nice, but busy location, small interior, congested parking lot. Friendly and helpful staff. Worth a drive and try!
My partner and I have visited The Cherry Pit many times for their fantastic dessert pies, but this was our first time trying their dinner...and it did not disappoint! The service was warm and friendly, and our food came out quickly and fresh. My partner ordered the meatloaf dinner, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly hearty, paired with creamy mashed potatoes, and savory, rustic cornbread (so good!). I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, crispy on the outside, with gooey melted cheese and tender meat inside. Absolute perfection! We also shared the fried zucchini medallions, which were golden and crunchy, topped with shredded Parmesan and served with a tasty red dipping sauce. The cozy, clean diner atmosphere made the meal even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of their dinner menu. If you’re in Greensboro and craving homestyle comfort food with a smile, The Cherry Pit is a must-visit!
I had a croissant breakfast sandwich, which was perfectly adequate. The young ladies at the counter were nice enough, helpful enough. No complaints there. The cherry pie, however, which was the reason that I stopped here in the first place, was a terrible disappointment. The crust was fairly awful, a gummy, pasty mix. The cherry filling was your basic canned pie filling. Heavy on the cornstarch and sugar, very light on the cherries. Had 12 small cherries. Just very disappointing.
