Crema's Take
“This Alameda spot strikes an impressive balance between approachable comfort drinks and serious espresso craftsmanship, with creative seasonal offerings like their Mayan Mocha that clearly resonate with regulars. While their specialty drink execution shines, the foundation matters here—visitors rave about fresh pastries and the welcoming vibe, making it an easy destination whether you're after a thoughtful pour over or a playful flavored mocha. It's the kind of place that respects coffee quality while still embracing the joy of creative indulgence.”

Beanery of Alameda ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars) We stopped in for coffee and really enjoyed our experience. We ordered the Mayan Mocha and the Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha. The Mayan Mocha was excellent—the spice added real depth and made it stand out. The Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha was definitely sweet (as expected), but very good if that’s what you’re in the mood for. I also really appreciate that they offer organic, fair-trade coffee and plenty of milk alternatives. My husband had oat milk, I had coconut milk—both worked well. We split a lox bagel, and even later in the day—when only a few bagel options were left—it was still very fresh and satisfying, especially compared to some other food we’d had elsewhere recently. That was a pleasant surprise. We’ve seen this place quite crowded before (it’s attached to a grocery store we shop at), but it wasn’t busy when we were there. There was plenty of seating. The table we chose was fine, though we did notice several other tables that looked like they hadn’t been wiped down yet—likely just an end-of-day cleanup gap, but worth noting. The vibe was relaxed and comfortable. Customer service wasn’t over-the-top friendly, but it was polite and welcoming—we were greeted when we walked in, which matters to me. If I’m going to spend money on something I could technically make at home, that basic human acknowledgment makes a difference. Overall, it was a really nice date-style stop: good drinks, solid food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a sunny January day to enjoy afterward. This feels like a place we’d come back to.
they should definitely work on the quality of the coffee it tasted like hot black water. the bagel was really amazing
