Crema's Take

Tucked away on Audubon, this quirky New Haven spot strikes that rare balance between a serious study sanctuary and a genuinely welcoming hangout, with thoughtfully designed spaces that range from cozy couches to desk nooks with privacy dividers. The staff treats every visitor like a friend, and whether you're ordering a meticulously crafted matcha, a traditional espresso drink, or grabbing a fresh bite, there's a real sense of care in how they make your experience feel both warm and unhurried. It's the kind of place where you can disappear for hours with your laptop or show up just to thaw out with a good cup and better company.

I ran into Koffee just after ordering my breakfast sandwich from Olmo on Whitney. My first time at either establishment. My wife suggested both places after I asked her for a great bagel sandwich and some hot chocolate. In fairness to Koffee, it wasn't like I chose Olmo's sandwich over what they have, it was from a suggestion of someone who has eaten sandwiches from Olmo and had coffee from Koffee. Anyway, I ran in and asked if they made hot chocolate, and the answer was yes. The next question was is it watery or creamy, as I had been very unsatisfied with the last 5 different establishment's hot chocolate, which was watery at best. In a funny (clutch the pearl moment) one of the barista's said "Oh no, our hot chocolate is not watery!" I made a joke about that and put in my order. As I waited I noticed that the atmosphere was so inviting that I wanted to sink into one of those comfy chairs, but I was in a rush, so I couldn't. LET ME TELL YOU....The hot chocolate was awesome! Get It! You won't be disappointed!

This is the quirky coffee house I was hoping to find in New Haven. Lots of character, friendly staff, and an usually wide range of seating options, some for the dedicated digital nomad / diligent student, but others suitable for friends to hang out or for basically curling up in a nook. The coffee beans rotate—I had the Tanzanian today, which was very nice.

One of the best coffee shops in New Haven. It’s a great place to study (free WiFi), read, or just hang out. The couches are really cozy and the desks with dividers are a nice touch. Excellent matcha and coffee. Their seasonal drinks are creative and tasty, and usually come with a little pastry. Highly recommend!

Very cozy & comfortable place! Today I came in during a cold day in May, in search of a warm place with a warm beverage. Coming here, I found both. The staff warmly greeted me and made my coffee pretty fast. I ordered the Nutella Latte. This drink is delicious, with a good nutty tone to its flavor. I should note the drink was perfect temp to drink the moment I received it. I went to sit down in the place and found a comfortable corner in a room full of plants, rugs, miscellaneous chairs and tables, and stuffed animals. I love the set up here and the way it ties together a cozy vibe. The lighting makes it all the better too. Warm tone bulbs, no crazy bright leds beaming into your eyes.

My first time here… I definitely want to come back. It’s chill and cozy in here. Perfect for a bite to eat or chat with a friend or to get some work or reading done. I had my food to go. I chose a granola bar. It tasted homemade and like it had fresh healthy ingredients. I believe the sandwich was called “Happy Vegan” I absolutely loved how it tasted. It was flavorful, perfect and fresh. I’m not vegan but I enjoy vegan/vegetarian options from time to time. I also enjoyed the Strawberry Matcha. That was delicious also and I paid a good price for the size.
