Crema's Take

Loco Cafe feels like the kind of neighborhood spot where you can linger over a meticulously crafted cold brew or dash in for a quick pastry without feeling rushed, thanks to their counter-service setup and genuinely spacious seating. Their coffee gets real attention—reviewers rave about the ice box coffee made with frozen coffee cubes and creative flavor pairings like iced coconut maple—though the pastries and baked goods lean more hit-or-miss, with some feeling like an afterthought compared to the beverage program. It's a place where conversation flows easily and the vibe supports both solo coffee moments and group hangouts.

What to expect

Cold brew standout. A slow-sit, quick-grab spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu.

They really played in our faces with the cinnamon roll. It's literally just a piece of flavorless bread with a swirl on top and the icing is just cheap betty crocker cake icing. You are better off buying the pilsbury ones and making them yourself. Take this off the menu at once!

I got the jalapeño biscuit and iced coconut maple coffee and it was great! I didn’t notice the ice is actually frozen coffee until later which is a nice touch. The biscuit was warm and fluffy without being greasy.

Another Denton restaurant that has been on my list for far too long hits it out of the park. I love the order at the counter concept here (with cocktails being ordered at the bar area - excellent touch for brunch). The food was great (pancakes and ham&cheese omelet...yum). The…
