Blank Street Coffee
647 Boylston St, Boston, MA
Crema's Take
“This Boston location of Blank Street Coffee has made a name for itself with playful, dessert-forward matcha drinks like the Blondie Matcha and Shortcake Matcha that lean sweet rather than bitter—perfect if you prefer your matcha approachable and almost candy-like. The tiny, cute shop pairs fast-moving service with creative flavor combinations, though if you're seeking traditional, deeply complex matcha, you might want to look elsewhere. Beyond the matcha specialties, their signature creative drinks and fresh pastries make it an ideal quick-grab spot that actually delivers on taste, especially if you love something a little sweeter and more indulgent.”

Had a quick moving line Sunday afternoon. Got the blondie matcha and it was insanely good. Like candy almost. The cookie butter flavor was very nice.
i enjoyed the ice matcha blondie waYYY more than i thought i would. if you’re looking for “authentic” matcha with a signature bitter, deep flavour, you probably WON’T find that here — it’s sweeter and lighter, but still really good, especially with the taste of oat milk. i also liked the little globs of caramel-y biscoff drizzle on the side, although i would’ve liked a bit more.
Blank Street is a chain of coffee shops serving a wide range of drinks, such as Matcha, Coffee, and more. The staff were friendly and efficient, getting orders out quickly and ensuring it was delivered in a timely manner. There wasn't a lot of seating but there was enough standing room to wait inside. The blueberry matcha was alright, it didn't really have a blueberry taste but it was still pretty good. The white chocolate matcha was similar, but the matcha taste was there but not as strong to my liking. It's pretty solid overall, but on the more watered down side.
Cute very tiny shop. We ordered a banana bread matcha, strawberry and cream latte, banana bread latte and daydream latte. Most were good, but the strawberry & cream lacked any real flavor. The almond croissant was good when warmed. The only big downside to this place is how small it is. There is not sitting area and the line starts out the door.
I tried the shortcake matcha, and to be honest, it was good, just not my personal style of matcha. If you prefer a lighter matcha flavor that isn’t too strong, then this place would be perfect for you.
