Crema's Take

This Louisville institution is a beloved neighborhood gathering spot where freshly baked European breads and pastries share the spotlight with a carefully curated grocery of imported meats, sausages, and hard-to-find European staples. The warm, family-friendly atmosphere and genuinely friendly staff make it feel less like a transaction and more like visiting a trusted neighbor who happens to bake everything in-house. Fair warning: the sit-down restaurant has closed since Covid, but the bakery and specialty shop are thriving, offering the same quality that kept customers coming back for over a decade.

Besides the Cafe and Bakery there is an awesome little grocery. Super friendly people too. Picked up some fresh Bonsnian bread Albanian Smoked sausage, and some great snacks we can't find anywhere else. Will get photos my next visit if I'm allowed.

My dad and I used to get bread from this place about 10-15 years ago, and it was some of the tastiest bread I’d ever had. Today I got a craving and decided to stop by. Not sure if they’re still under the same ownership (the name has since changed) but the bread was just as great as it used to be, and for $4, the huge loaf was a bargain. They also have a few coolers and shelves of various Balkan groceries I’d never seen elsewhere. Will definitely be back for more bread and to try some other goodies!

I went there today, restaurant is closed. They are just a bakery and grocery store now. All pictures you see about menu are gone. Owner said they closed restaurant when Covid hit. Very disappointed 😞 to hear all that when I went there today. The owner should have updated his site and removed all food items. They don't offer food to go anymore. Only bread and groceries now.

My family stopped in after eating at DaLats next door. There's a restaurant and a little shop where you can find snacks and meats from across Europe. Not to mention, even though everything is imported, the prices were more than reasonable. Support this small business!

Wonderful food. Me and my boyfriend split some beef and rice, pickled cabbage wraps and a sausage sandwich. The bread was light and fresh, baked in house, and all the sausage was handmade. Staff was very friendly, our chef visited us in the dining room and she asked how the food was. There wasnt a menu complete when we went, but a regular there said the burgers were the best, with the house baked bun.
