Coffeeology
423 Tate St, Greensboro, NC
Crema's Take
“Coffeeology draws a devoted crowd to its cozy Greensboro spot near UNCG with genuinely high-quality matcha and cold brew that clearly stand out—their Iced Matcha is a particular highlight for those seeking a caffeine alternative. Under new management, they've refreshed their pastry game with crowd-pleasing swirly breads and treats like red bean pastries, though the food offerings lean lighter than some might expect. It's the kind of welcoming neighborhood spot where you can linger over a specialty drink and sweet treat, even if the savory options don't quite steal the show.”

I got to try their Iced Matcha and it was really good quality. It tasted delicious. I do wish they had some Matcha drink combination options on the menu. I am caffeine sensitive, So I can’t drink coffee, but I love Matcha and it would be nice to have some of the same creative drink combos that they have available for the coffee drinkers. The Matcha was still amazing and I am going to return.
Amazing! New management and cute new items to choose. I really love the swirly breads and the red bean treat is my favourite. The milks were good too! I recommend, especially if you need a happy treat while doing some work ♥️
*edit: added photos Got a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The coffee was delicious, so so tasty. The sandwich was fresh but a little bland for my liking. However, it was filling and that was the ultimate goal. The employees and atmosphere are superb. Friendly, inviting, warm, and happy despite getting there at 8am. Really enjoyable and will be back.
We decided to stop here before heading onto the Blue Ridge Parkway through Boone, hoping for a good meal. Unfortunately, our experience fell short. The food was quite disappointing, and the staff seemed unsure about which items were vegan, which is problematic given the limited vegan options available. Even though we arrived right when the restaurant opened, most of the vegan choices were not available. I’d recommend finding a place to eat further away if you're vegan and planning to hit the Blue Ridge Parkway. This spot is not ideal for those following a vegan diet.
Wife and I decided to stop by on our way home from an errand. Starting off, parking was tough to find since it’s right by UNCG on a busy street. However, the street was a cute little area, especially for a college part of town. If I was a college student or lived close by and could walk here, I’d consider it if it wasn’t for the food and coffee. Wife’s espresso drink was way too strong, ingredient proportions were off and the espresso was very bitter and acidic. My matcha tea latte had too much foam, almost half of my mug. Avocado toast was probably the worst I’ve had in a long time. It was toasted bread yet came out a bit soggy with a few slices of tomatoes on top. And if you look closely, the avocado layer is very minimal. I would describe the amount of avocado as a very thin layer of butter you’d put on toast. And there was no flavor to it, whether because it wasn’t seasoned at all, there wasn’t enough of it to taste, or most likely both. Only reason it doesn’t get a 1 star is for the friendly service and staff. We won’t be coming back again.
