Dame Cafe Coffee
5002 Hamilton Rd, Austin, TX
Crema's Take
“This mobile coffee operation tucked into an Austin food truck lot has built serious buzz for their bold creative drinks, particularly their signature canela lattes topped with marshmallow fluff and graham cracker that lean into that sweet, indulgent territory. The wildly inconsistent reviews suggest they're experimenting ambitiously with flavor combinations like horchata and pumpkin spice, though execution can be hit-or-miss depending on when you visit. If you're drawn to playful, dessert-forward coffee drinks and don't mind taking a chance on a small operation with variable results, it's worth the trek.”

Had to check out this place after seeing it pop up on my instagram. It was located in a food truck lot. We had an oat milk candela latte with toasted marshmallow and graham cracker and a horchata latte. The latte itself wasn’t very impressive but the toasted marshmallow was very aesthetically pleasing and fun to drink. The horchata latte wasn’t very good and tasted kinda watery. Overall I think it was a very cool idea to have the toasted marshmallow but the coffee itself just wasn’t very good. It was a fun place to try and supported a small business but nothing too noteworthy really a place I would visit again.
We showed up right as they were closing. Google said they were open till 2:30pm but they closed early. I went up and asked if there was anyway we could still order because you never know unless you ask, right? They were very friendly and accommodated us with hot chocolate. They weren’t able to do coffee because they were already closing, but the hot chocolate was fantastic. We were very appreciative to them for doing that for us. They could have just sent us away. Price was comparable to other coffee spots. Wasn’t over priced.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but my coffee was AMAZING!! I got an iced Canela latte with the marshmallow fluff on top. Two things. If you like sweet coffee and don’t get the fluff you may not like the coffee. It’s not sweet but it’s still a great cup of coffee. Mix the fluff into the coffee…that was the game changer for me and my husband who got the hot seasonal caramel latte with fluff. We will absolutely be back!
Had the pumpkin spice and the horchata iced latte. Super disappointed at the fact that they lagged so much flavor. They were definitely on bitter side. No sweetness at all. The person who accompanied me is a person who enjoys coffee on the less sweet side. But still did not like due to the fact that the flavor was horrible. I could not taste the pumpkin spice at all, definitely could’ve fooled me thinking it was regular flavor. Horchata flavor seemed so watered down. Service was nice but overall flavor and quality very low.
I drove an hour to try out this coffee truck, and I really wanted to love it! Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I ordered the most popular drink, mentioning that I prefer my coffee on the sweet side, and was excited to add the marshmallow topping because it looked so appealing. However, the drink was far from sweet it didn't meet my expectations at all. I ended up tossing it out, which was a real letdown after such a long drive. My friend came as well and prefers her coffee a little more on the bitter side and she felt that the favoring just wasn’t it either. However, I love the aesthetics and glad I at least got a cute picture of the cafe.
