Crema's Take

This cozy Mediterranean spot in Madison excels at traditional slow-sipped beverages like Turkish tea alongside thoughtfully prepared kebabs and grilled specialties that taste genuinely made-from-scratch. It's the kind of place where families and friends linger over flavorful dishes like lamb kebabs and mixed grills that convert even skeptics, with warm service that makes you want to return regularly.

I was so excited to try and I think loved it. I ordered the lamb kebab entree with salad, fries, and rice. I usually don’t like lamb, but this was honestly some of the best lamb I’ve ever had. It wasn’t gamey at all, and the spices were incredible. Everything tasted really authentic. The salad was super refreshing, not at all like a heavy American-style salad with creamy dressing. The sauce that came with the lamb was also refreshing and flavorful, and everything on the plate worked really well together. I would absolutely come back to try more dishes. They also have lamb stew on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, which I’m definitely planning to try soon. I did order tiramisu to go, and while it was good, the portion was very small for the price. I honestly thought there was a mistake at first. The only other downside is the seating. It’s pretty tight, and tables seem to max out at four people, so it’s not great for larger groups. Overall, amazing food and a great new spot. I’ll definitely be back.

Food was fine. Unfortunately (for them. Not me) there are better Mediterranean restaurants in Madison. Service was good, place was cute, just a little underwhelming with flavors. Bummer, because lahmacun is one of my favorite foods in the world and the other restaurants in Madison, that have better flavor, don’t offer it.

The food is very satisfying, been looking for a Mediterranean restaurant to go to regularly and this is it. We had the Turkish tea, 4 person mixed grill, and pelmeni. All absolutely delicious!

Fabulous Mediterranean food, friendly and attentive service! We had Adana kebab plate and Uzbek Pilaf-both delicious! definitely made from scratch and so flavorful! Owner brought us Tajikistan candies and chocolate to go with the Turkish tea, the cardamom infused tea was wonderful! Definitely recommend!!

I stopped in for a quick lunch take away as I had read about this new place and was very excited to try them . There was immediate parking available in the free parking lot and no wait time as I showed up right around lunch. Inside store is nice fresh and clean . Gentleman helping me was very friendly and helped me as they were out of the main items I was interested in . In particular I was eager to try two unique and special items on their menu which are not easily found outside of middle eastern regions : pide and lachmachun . Unfortunately both were not available when I was there and I inquired when they would have the dough for these bakery items , and was advised weekends. I went for the chicken shawarma to go with a side of fries . Take out only took about 10 minutes. Chicken was tender and very flavorful . Nicely prepared. I was not a fan (at all ) of the vegetable carrot (!) that is added almost as a filler on the inside of the pita sandwich. I would personally ask them next time to skip this. It is not the norm in a shawarma. Certainly I will be back to try the bakery items I so crave to taste .
