Crema's Take
“Rico's Café is a beloved Colorado Springs gathering spot where creativity shines through seasonal specialties like their white chocolate huckleberry latte and maple hazelnut latte—drinks crafted with restraint so the flavors feel genuine rather than cloying. Beyond the thoughtfully made coffee and tea selection, this is a place designed for lingering, complete with curated greeting cards and gifts that make it feel more like a carefully considered neighborhood refuge than a typical café. With standout service from team members like barista Taylor, Rico's has mastered the art of making visitors feel welcomed enough to settle in for hours.”

Congratulations to Rico’s on your BEST BARISTA. Taylor! She’s new and remarkable in customer service and deserves recognition for her excellence. You found a fine one with her at your register.
May have been because I showed up as they were opening, yet the person taking/making my order was curt and a bit off putting. I was the one of 2 customers. Other gentleman was not and had not ordered. I asked for recommendations and casher put in an order without speaking to me and become upset when I stated I couldn't have that due to allergy to a spice. I was given a menu with what seemed like any eye rolling gesture. Coffee was flavorless/bland (ordered Carmel). Lemon bar crust was very thick and tasted like Lemon flavored instead of Lemon zest/juice was used in custard. Bookstore is beautiful, could spend all day in that portion of the Cafe.
Great spot to waste some time on a weekend. Rico's has some great seasonal coffee options, my favorite being the white chocolate huckleberry latte. The checkout process is much more linear than it was in the past and their rewards program is worth signing up for. Their food options are solid for a quick bite. The quiche is packed with eggy/veggie goodness and a thin crust. The lemon berry mascarpone cake is glorious when allowed to sit at room temp for a few minutes. Soft and fluffy, there is a slight twang in the cake that balances the sweetness in the mascarpone filling.
Rico’s Café is a great place to have coffee/tea and just relax. Not only is it a coffee shop, they have a wide selection of greeting cards and gifts to choose from. The tea and coffee selection is very large, this is a great place to relax, study and shop for small gifts.
After a long day of adventuring we decided to end our ToUsDay with Coffee and dessert, which led us to Rico’s. We both had the maple hazelnut latte and oh my goodness it was amazing. Not overly sweet. Just right!!! The baristas were friendly, the atmosphere was fun and comfortable. I’d definitely recommend this place!!!
