Crema's Take

Tucked into Hamden's Ninth Square, this laid-back cafe strikes that perfect balance between a serious work spot and a genuine gathering place, with a manager who's genuinely welcoming about folks settling in for hours. The real star here is the pastry case—their cronuts and almond croissants are worth the trip alone, and the spacious seating both inside and out makes it easy to linger over coffee whether you're diving into a novel or catching up with a friend.

Very cute cafe with a good amount of seating. I got the almond croissant and it was delicious! Lots of people were doing work and my friend and I played a game, so just an overall good place to hangout. Support your local businesses!

I've come in here many times to unwind and read as well as check out the ads. The manager has always been laid back for me to utilize the restroom and the cafe table to read my novels in my private little corner. The kitchen closes at 2pm however, so next time I want to try food I'll be here earlier. Furthermore, I can say the iced berry latte, almond milk, pistachio cookie and atmosphere has to be the most comforting items here. Not sure, if today was anyone's day but everyone is going through the motions of hectic busy inflated and deflected energy and days, hours and minutes.

3.5 / 5.0 - I’ve dined here a couple of times for breakfast / brunch. They have a spacious indoor dining area, as well as some tables outside, for a nice day out. It’s counter service and they will call you name out once your food is ready. Especially for the price, the avocado toast has very little avocado on it and the croissant didn’t taste very fresh. I’ll have to try some other items on the menu.

I feel like Goldilocks would have had a field day here because everything’s just right. G cafe where do I begin the Cronut no words honestly speechless. My daughter and I crave this croissant donut almost daily. Her other favorite is the Pain Au Chocolat which has put all others to shame in her eyes. The flavors are light delicate not too sweet. Perfect ratio honestly craveworthy. Leilani(I think I spelled it right ) always makes our experience so lovely. One of the sweetest servers. She really cares for her customers. Thank you for getting to know us remembering the details people often forget you are a rare gem we are blessed to have met her. Love from Brittany & Peyton.

The ambiance at G Cafe Bakery is warm and inviting. As a local, I appreciate the friendly surroundings and the cool vibes. It’s a great spot to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy some quality alone time. The breads at G Cafe are reminiscent of the loaves crafted by skilled European bakers. My favorite is the Jewish rye. It’s the real deal—dense, flavorful, and with that unmistakable crust. Whether you’re making a classic deli sandwich or simply enjoying it with butter, it pairs well with every topping. If you’re a Yale student seeking a cozy study spot or a curious foodie exploring New Haven, this bakery won’t disappoint. So, grab your textbooks, order a croissant, and soak in the Yale spirit at G Cafe!
