Crema's Take

The Sweet Corner is a family-friendly spot in San Jose's Vietnam Town that's recently undergone new ownership with a refreshed aesthetic and expanded menu. While the beautifully decorated space and friendly staff create an inviting atmosphere perfect for lingering over drinks and pastries, recent reviews suggest the new ownership is still finding their footing—some regulars note the drinks lean too sweet and flavors feel different from before. If you're exploring the area and want a casual place to meet friends over matcha, specialty drinks, and light bites, it's worth a visit, though longtime fans may want to give them time to settle in.

Ordered 2 boba drinks, fish ball, cheese cake and cheese sticks. Only cheese cake and cheese sticks were edible, rest had to trash. Surprised to see paper napkins had to be requested, not provided with food and drinks. Probably was not excited to see my family in their shop. Once we trashed the drinks, we had better experience from Happy Lemon, in same complex.

This was my go to place for che in the vietnam town area. After the new owner change something tastes off. The drink is a bit too syrupy sweet even though we asked for half sugar. The place looks more simple and less cluttered now, but thr flavor of the drinks matter more to me. Will give it another try next time to see if it was just a one-off.

Pros: The staff are friendly and pleasant. There’s a nice display of colorful pastries and plenty of savory options to choose from. Cons: It would be great if the shop could adjust the taste of the iced milk coffee a bit. I’ve tried many iced milk coffees from different places, but this one was hard to drink and I couldn’t finish it. The milk tea was quite mild and didn’t have much tea fragrance. The air conditioning was also not very cool. => This is mainly a drink shop, so it might be worth reviewing the recipes to better match the tastes of your target customers.

I've enjoyed desserts, milk teas, smoothies, and various other items at this establishment over the years. I find their taste and quality to be consistently good. Their menu is extensive, offering a wide range of coffee and tea specials. On a recent weekend evening after dinner, I dropped by and ordered several slices of cake to take with me. It was a delightful way to conclude the evening! However, the only issue I encountered was the variability of their service. At times, you're warmly greeted with a 'Hi! Hello! Welcome!' upon entering, but more often than not, the service lacks the same enthusiasm. It's clear that customer service needs significant improvement. Nevertheless, the delectable desserts keep me coming back despite this. The treats are simply irresistible, and I can't resist the temptation to visit, even with numerous other boba shops in the same plaza. Parking is plentiful, and if it's not crowded, you can easily find a convenient spot nearby. The interior is cozy, but there's outdoor seating available when the weather is pleasant. Whether it's busy or not your preferred choice, you're guaranteed to find something you like within Little Saigon Plaza!
