Crema's Take

The Rise Coffee Bar is a charming Charleston spot that shines brightest in its lush outdoor garden space, where the laid-back vibe and creative signature drinks like the Rosemary Rise make it perfect for lingering with friends or settling in for focused work. Their espresso-forward menu and thoughtfully crafted specialty beverages earn genuine love from regulars, though consistency and hospitality can be hit-or-miss depending on who's behind the counter. The aesthetic appeal and studious atmosphere draw a steady crowd of college students and locals, making it feel like a genuine neighborhood gathering place when service matches the coffee quality.

Great coffee, however, customer service is god awful. Cashier stared at me without saying “hello” or anything at all. (This is the second time this has happened with the same person) Didn’t care for the customer, just rude and angry. Is it illegal to get proper customer service training in Charleston?

LOVE!! Favorite coffee shop in Charleston. Super cute and personable. The coffee is so good and tastes really authentic. The outside area is my favorite place to sit with friends or do work. The environment is super nice and makes me feel comfortable.

First Google review but had to do it… Ordered two dark roast coffees. So watered down and tasteless. How can you screw up something so simple. Long line, staff eating behind the counter. Fine with that. But the coffee was horrific. Would rather have airplane coffee.

Great coffee and excellent vibe/decor. Small area inside but an outside garden space which is an oasis in Charleston. Lots of students from the nearby college studying and chatting which is always a good sign. Can recommend the cinnamon bun which was superb 👌

Very upbeat and up to date coffee place. The rosemary rise was very good, as well as the blueberry scone. The front room is good for lots of light, and study area. Take the door inside and you will find a nice seating area that is very cozy along with the restrooms. Thanks!
