Funny Library Coffee Shop
1445 Turtle Creek Blvd, Dallas, TX
Crema's Take
“Nestled inside Virgin Hotels, this Dallas spot trades stuffy coffee shop conventions for genuinely immaculate vibes and thoughtful details like outlets scattered throughout the seating—perfect for the work-from-coffee crowd who actually want to linger. Manager Simone has earned a reputation for top-tier hospitality that keeps people coming back, though reviews are split on whether the creative drinks live up to their beautiful presentation, with some praising unique flavors while others find the execution inconsistent.”

Came here to finish up some work and the vibes looked cool. It’s much smaller than what it looks online and the floors didn’t seem like they were vacuumed. Got my drink which wasn’t anything fancy and wasn’t hot, lukewarm at best. Outlets in wall and in the large table didn’t work. Ended up coming out to my car and plugging my laptop in since it has a regular outlet thinking maybe it was my devices- my car is charging my laptop perfectly fine. Very cute space, mediocre drinks, no working outlets at least not where I was sitting. 🤷🏻♀️
The place looks nice, but that’s all it has. The staff member was kind, but the drinks were extremely disappointing. I ordered an iced lavender chai. The taste was cheap, overly sweet, and artificial. There was no real chai flavor and no lavender at all. Even the sugar tasted low quality. It honestly tasted worse than gas station chai. I tried to give it another chance and had it remade, but it was still the same. In the end, I threw it in the trash. For a café that looks premium, the drinks should be high quality — not cheap, commercial-tasting flavors. The hassle of parking alone is not worth it. Very poor experience. I won’t be back.
So my first time here was two weeks ago, and I’ve now been back 3 times. The manager Simone is top tier, she has the absolute best customer service. When I came in and asked for a breakfast sandwich there was a small issue of how to ring it up and Simone stepped in handled everything. She even went to the kitchen to explain how I wanted the sandwich. She and her team checked on us multiple times. I’ve yet to find another place that has this level of customer service. I’ve never stayed at the virgin hotel but if this is a preview of what it’s like, I will be booking soon.
**Google Review:** I recently visited the Funny Library at Virgin Hotels and had an amazing time! Although the network was down at work, it turned out to be the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind. The aesthetics of the place are stunning—so cozy and visually captivating, perfect for spending time with friends. I ordered a personalized latte that was absolutely delicious, and the truffle fries and Brussels sprouts were the perfect snack to share. The vibe was relaxed yet vibrant, and it felt like a little escape from the usual workday grind. Highly recommend for anyone looking to combine great food, good company, and a stylish setting. Can’t wait to return!
The vibes are sooooooo immaculate. Literally such a beautiful place. They have outlets with most seating spots and the drinks are unique and delicious as well. It’s inside the Virgin hotel and you could step out to get food right outside the cafe (in the same building) at the restaurant if it’s open. 10/10 would come again. Got so much done.
