“The cortados here are genuinely excellent—this is an espresso-focused operation run by culinary-trained owners who take their craft seriously—and the house-baked pastries and gelato give you plenty of reasons to linger over a second cup. It's got that rare combo of skilled barista work and genuine warmth, with a relaxed European café vibe that works equally well for focused laptop time or catching up with friends. Fair warning: they don't use locally roasted beans, but what they're doing with their current supplier is polished and reliable.”
What to expect
Espresso-focused. A slow-sit, laptop-friendly, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Family friendly. Parking available.

Excellent espresso! My favorite is a cortado & theirs is top-notch. Their pastries & soups are all very good too. The couple who own the Barbara are graduates of the Culinary Institute of America just north of Poughkeepsie & their work shows it. Congrats!
Sophie and William are such kind, easy going people. House baked treats and sandwiches. Good coffee (only gripe is not having locally roasted coffee) that’s well executed. And rather than a PSL, have their real coffee together with pumpkin bread! Definitely check it out.
Nice party vibe, friendly skilled barista making a wide variety of coffees, freshes baked goods. Great place to hang out and relax. Really loved this coffee shop. Next time I'll try their gelato and affogato.
"Brian the Barista" amazing fellow made an amazing Cortada for me. Cool little place with Cafe vibes perfect for remote working or school work as well as to go with company to chill and enjoy the atmosphere of this little hidden gem. Def Poppin by on my next trip to upstate NY.
