Maker Exchange
710 Clinch Ave, Knoxville, TN
Crema's Take
“Maker Exchange strikes an appealing balance between serious coffee craft and casual gathering space, where baristas with genuine enthusiasm (like the purple-haired staff member who patiently explained the specialty drinks) help you discover their creative beverages alongside surprisingly well-executed food like crispy battered fries and perfectly grilled vegetables. While service can be inconsistent, the welcoming atmosphere and laptop-friendly setup make it a solid spot for lingering over a raspberry latte or exploring their signature creative drinks with a friend.”

Terrible service and an even worse dining experience. The staff was inattentive from the start, and things only went downhill when I found a hair in my food. Not exactly the surprise ingredient anyone wants. When I brought it up, there was little urgency or accountability. No real apology, no sense that this was taken seriously. If basic food safety and customer service aren’t priorities, that’s a problem. I also had to request an apology and the manager didn’t make it a priority to come speak to us. I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place unless standards improve drastically.
Had a raspberry latte and brioche bun. Delicious!! The person who took my order with purple hair strands was very friendly and helpful. I wasnt sure what the coffees were and that person helped explain and I figured out what I wanted. 10/10 service, i recommend
We got the lamb appetize to share, I got the chicken lollipops, and my husband got the fried chicken cutlet. the food was really good and the atmosphere was really nice. But our server Caitlin was amazing, she was upbeat, she recommended good food, she knew her menu she made the experience well worth it. When we come back we definitely want her as our server again.
Service was top notch. My advice: go for apps Deviled eggs were so delicious, asparagus amazing grilled just right with a perfect texture and flavor. Salmon was good bit not worth the price Same for the pork chop, a bit too much mustard, Perfectly cooked though, and very flavorful but again not sure the money we paid was worth the meals.
Service was good. The chicken salad sandwich was generally sized and pretty good. Fries were the battered kind and very crispy. Prices were quite decent for a hotel bar/ restaurant. Lobby right outside is a big and convenient place to wait or relax in for a bit. Lots of couches, some tables, and plenty of outlets
