Crema's Take

While West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe isn't primarily a coffee destination, it's a beloved neighborhood gathering spot where a quick coffee pairs perfectly with their exceptional house-made sausages and classic Wisconsin fare like authentic reubens. The bustling, welcoming atmosphere and genuinely friendly service make it ideal for casual meetups, and regulars rave about how the place delivers on both food quality and speed despite often being packed with locals. Stopped into West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe for lunch and it absolutely delivered. The space was clean, welcoming, and the service was friendly and quick. The lunch menu has a huge variety of options, which made it tough to choose. I went with the BLT on sourdough, served with a pickle spear and thick-cut potato chips. It totally hit the spot. The bacon they use is fantastic. My friend ordered the Sriracha Melt (ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, jalapeños, and sriracha mayo grilled on white bread), which also came with chips and a pickle. Immediately devoured. The salads looked incredible....the table next to us ordered a couple and they looked absolutely divine. Next time for sure. The adjacent market is a must-browse too. It's packed with specialty products and rare finds that you don't see everywhere, making it easy to walk out with way more than you planned. Great food, great service, and a fun market to explore. Highly recommend stopping in if you're anywhere near West Allis.

I ordered take out for my Dad and I today. A reuben, a hot dog and an order of onion rings. The place was hopping and packed with people dining in. Wait time wasn’t too bad. The food was exceptional. Made to order hot and fresh. The reuben was especially delicious. The meat was warm & juicy, the cheese gooey, the sauerkraut not too strong and just enough 1000 island. The rye bread was grilled buttery crispy. It came with homemade chips and a kosher dill pickle spear. So good! My Dad enjoyed his Usinger’s hot dog with relish too. Menu items are centered around deli sandwiches and all day breakfast items. The retail store is packed with deli cheeses, meats, adult beverages and snacks. There is also a deli counter to have items sliced to order. This spot is a local GEM. Just FYI right across the street is The Bake Sale bakery shop. They are known for homemade pies with unusual and delicious ingredients plus bakery from all different places throughout the city. Hot ham on Sundays too!

Just visited for the first time. First time visitors will order at the counter, get their number, drinks and take it to the table they find for dinning. The food will be brought to the table along with a coffee carafe for refills. The skillet was good. The meal was very filling. In fact I didn't finish my American fries, which were underneath my eggs that were smothered by cheese.

We went to the West Allis Cheese and Sausage Shoppe as I was looking for a Milwaukee area sandwich shop. The location of this store/cafe is great as there are a number of places to eat and other shops to stop in at. So this cafe serves breakfast, lunch, coffee….we tried a little of everything. The sandwiches were good. Cheese soup amazing. Breakfast sandwiches huge. Next to the cafe is a deli you can shop at while you wait for your food. The deli has your typical sliced meats and cheeses but also a selection of beef sticks, curds, and other snack type items. Definitely a place to visit.

I would love to give this place more stars and probably will in the future. To start off the atmosphere and service were impeccable however the food was not as so much. My wife got the traditional breakfast and I had the deluxe skillet. My wife thought her meal was good. My skillet very dry and very bland. Maybe consider putting some hollandaise sauce on to make it delectable.
