Crema's Take

This beloved Vietnamese spot in San Jose keeps customers coming back for their exceptional pâté chauds—flaky, buttery pastries filled with savory pork and pâté that locals praise as some of the best around, all at an unbeatable price. Their coffee is small but mighty, perfectly complementing a quick breakfast or morning combo that includes a remarkably soft sandwich, making it an ideal grab-and-go spot for those seeking authentic, satisfying Vietnamese flavors. It's the kind of hidden gem family business that feels like a neighborhood secret, where fresh, quality ingredients and genuine care shine through in every bite.

I ate their morning combo special. Their sandwich is nice and soft and their coffee is small and effective.

Pate chaud is bland. The meat tasted sour and is the size of a fingertip.

Amazing small business that serves authentic Vietnamese food. Honestly a hidden gem of San Jose.

Good little pork pate chauds $1.25 here. We ordered eight of the square ones and four of the triangle ones. We already ate some Cambodian noodles earlier but found room for some pate chauds. These will probably not be good the next day so we had to hurry. We ate all of them on the way from SJ to SF. Good times.

FRESH PATE CHAUD! The price isn't too bad. This was some of the best I have had in a while. Flakey and buttery puff pastry, flavorful ground pork, and OF COURSE, the savory pate. So good. We physically saw the worker take the pate chaud out of the oven when we came in. It was so fresh and LITERALLY hot out the oven. KEEP IN MIND: If you're not Vietnamese, this shop can be quite intimidating. The workers will talk to you in Vietnamese despite talking to them in English, so try your best to use context clues or be clear if you cannot speak Vietnamese.
