Crema's Take

Red Dessert Dive is a warmly decorated Houston gem that doubles as a coffee shop, wine bar, and dessert destination—but it's really the handcrafted pastries and desserts that steal the show, from moist red velvet cupcakes to creamy banana pudding that locals rave about. What sets it apart is its late-night hours and genuinely welcoming staff, making it the perfect spot to satisfy your coffee and baked goods cravings when other places have already closed their doors. The whole experience feels special thanks to the care poured into every detail, from the beautiful space to the kindness of the team behind the counter.

Very cute coffee shop/wine bar/dessert bar/cute store. Desserts are only part of what they offer but are the real stars! Beautifully decorated and true hand crafted pastries- everything was delicious! The small outdoor space is great to hang out in while sipping a latte. New Pilates studio has opened next door with more tenants to come!

Such a cute little bakery and coffee shop! The space is warm and welcoming, and everything smelled amazing the moment we walked in. But what really made the visit special was the kindness — Victoria was so sweet to my mom and even surprised her with some banana pudding, which is their specialty. That small gesture meant so much and truly made our day. We’ll absolutely be back for the treats and the wonderful service. 🎄

I’m often on the prowl for coffee and baked goods, and I often feel the urge later in the day, past the time when most coffee house establishments have closed for the night. Some are open a little later than others, and one happens to be Red Dessert Dive, a combination bakery, coffee shop, and wine/beer bar. I found out about Red Dessert Dive when I was looking for something that was not only open on a Saturday evening, but also that was known for its excellence in products and service. I saw Red Dessert Dive was listed on several best- in- Houston rankings. That was all I needed to convince me to visit, and I wasn’t disappointed that I did. Desserts are the specialty here and there are many excellent options among them. Cookies, cupcakes, brownies, cheesecake, bread pudding, etc await your selection. They have whole cakes for purchase, too. The difficulty will be in making the final decision, as there are so many worthwhile selections. I tend to go for desserts that I can hold in my hands and eat, so I usually will go for a brownie or cookie. Whatever you choose, the desserts served here are quite good. If you don’t want something sweet, they also serve chicken salad sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, and more. With the drinks, you will find an assortment of coffee beverages, tea, and even wine and beer. The cortado is quite tasty, but is only a small serving, so keep that in mind. They serve beverages warm and cold, so you shouldn’t have any problem finding what you like. The coffee and tea options are not as extensive as what I have seen in other coffee shops, but it’s a relief not to have too many choices. You will be busy enough trying to select from so many delicious desserts. Red Dessert Dive has indoor and outdoor seating. The tables and chairs on the inside are nice, but I do wish they had couches or love seats to get comfy and relaxed. This is about the only thing I would change about this establishment. The sweet treats and beverages are all delicious, and the service is courteous, making Red Dessert Dive a great place to visit for coffee, cakes, and more.

I’ve been drinking coffee at Red Dessert Dive for a long time. Stopped by to have a red velvet cupcake—it was moist, flavorful, and topped with rich, creamy frosting that really hit the spot. Definitely something I’d come back for. On the flip side, I also tried the almond croissant, which was just okay. It was pretty dry and not great flavor. Overall, a nice place for coffee and sweets, especially if you’re in the mood for red velvet cupcake.

Red Dessert Dive is amazing! The desserts are incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. I especially loved the banana pudding – it was creamy, flavorful, and one of the best I’ve had. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their treats!
