Crema's Take

Nestled in Mesa, this beloved neighborhood gem pairs expertly crafted traditional coffee drinks with exceptional house-made kolaches that keep locals coming back for more. The genuinely warm staff—regulars praise the personal touches from baristas like Karina and Jessica—make it feel like a gathering place rather than just a café, whether you're settling in for a slow morning or grabbing a delivery order for a special occasion. With their year-round birthday rewards and a vibe that's equally welcoming for a solo coffee break or a family meetup, this is the kind of Mesa staple that earns its loyal following one pastry at a time.

Many places have been dropping birthday freebies from their rewards club. As of March 2026, I can say Kolache Cafe still gives you $5 off in your b-day month. And it's great that they deliver too.

This is a Mesa staple and a place you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again. Highly recommend. 🥐🔥 If you’re in Mesa, Arizona and you love pastries, this spot is an absolute must and for good reason, it’s very, very popular. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place stays busy. The clean, bright atmosphere and the constant flow of customers speak for themselves. Despite how popular it is, the staff stays friendly, patient, and efficient. Ordering is smooth, the line moves fast, and the whole place runs with a calm, upbeat energy. Packaging is clean and well-branded, making it perfect for takeout, sharing, or bringing into work.

I walked into this place 12/7/25 after having it on my list of places to visit, and never knowing what a kolache even is, and I immediately was greeted by Karina who was such an amazing personality to come across and was so knowledgeable about the products. Put me onto 4 different kinds of kolache and was so patient with me, my sister & mother from out of town with all of our questions. She gave us SO MANY options. Showed us tons of drink combos! And even let us have a free Cinnamon roll! (because it was the end of the day and they wouldn't be donated that day) the place was EXTREMELY clean, organized, bathrooms were great and the floor in the women's is so sparkly! Also I live about 45min away from this shop and their is no other closer to me, so I will 100% be making the drive down to this location to see Karina and her amazing personality as well as loading up on some delicious kolcahes and trying more of the menu as well! Also if you need to reheat them, try wrapping it in a wet paper towel and in the microwave for 15-30 sec. I had one everyday of the week for breakfast as I was heading out the door! I recommend Ham & Swiss for savory and Apricot for a colder one! Theres still so many flavors for me to try and I can't wait to try the whole menu! Thank You so much Karina for your hospitality and your suggestions!❤️

I’ve been wanting to try The Kolache Café for a while now - I drive by all the time and finally stopped in. So glad I did! We were greeted by Jessica and Smokey, both super friendly and welcoming. Jessica was awesome — she asked if we’d been there before (we hadn’t) and then excitedly explained what a kolache is and gave a bit of the history behind them. I’m huge on customer service, and that interaction alone had me hooked before I even tried anything. The café itself is clean, cozy, and smelled amazing the moment we walked in. There were so many options to choose from, but here’s what we tried this round: • Chorizo, Egg & Cheese – A great breakfast kolache with chorizo, eggs, and cheddar cheese. Not spicy, just flavorful. Definitely getting this one again. • Brisket, Mashed Potatoes & Cheese – Comfort food vibes. It was okay, but I’ll try something different next time. • Southwest (Ham, Egg, Cheese, Salsa & Jalapeño) – So good! The mild salsa and jalapeños add just the right amount of kick. Tons of flavor. • Smoked Sausage & Cheese – A Texas classic and a fan favorite for good reason. The smoked sausage with melted cheddar and jalapeño hit the spot. Overall, the service, the food, and the atmosphere were all fantastic. Jessica truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and it’s rare to see that kind of genuine enthusiasm these days. Can’t wait to come back and try more flavors!

We came mid-morning on a weekend and there was several people here but not overly packed. We were not rushed to make our selection and ended up getting a six pack box with half sweet and half savory. We enjoyed all of the flavors of both sweet and savory. We did not try the cinnamon rolls but they looked incredible. This is a wonderful alternative to the common donuts or bagels that are usually considered. We will definitely be back to try more flavors and definitely the cinnamon rolls
