KISS Cafe
1802 Crowne Commons Way #C1, Johns Island, SC
Crema's Take
“This Johns Island gem feels like stepping into a neighbor's kitchen rather than a typical café, where the owner Leslie and her team have built something genuinely special that keeps locals and visitors coming back for breakfast, lunch, and their coveted invite-only Italian dinner pop-ups. They're serious about their craft—whether you're craving an authentically nostalgic Jersey bagel, a loaded brisket skillet, or unexpected dishes like Italian wedding soup—everything tastes like it's made with real care and intention. It's the kind of place where you'll overhear regulars greeting each other by name while you settle in with genuinely excellent coffee and food that reminds you why neighborhood spots matter.”

Kiss Café on Johns Island is hands down our favorite breakfast (and lunch!) spot in Charleston. From the moment you arrive, you feel like part of the community. Leslie, along with her incredibly talented husband Chef Tim Wickey and Chef Brittney, are truly the heart of this place. And Jack, the general manager, makes every visit special—he knows our dogs by name and greets us every single time. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with people actually talking to each other, and dogs are welcome on the covered porch, which we love. The food is consistently fresh, inventive, and absolutely delicious. Whether it’s breakfast or lunch, everything is thoughtfully prepared and never disappoints. Most recently, they had a cheeseburger wrap that was honestly one of the best burgers my husband and I have ever had. And a special shoutout to the bagels—hands down the best bagels in Charleston, and we regularly get them to go. Exceptional service, fresh and creative food, and a genuine neighborhood feel make Kiss Café a true gem. We can’t recommend it highly enough—it’s simply the best.
Had a great dinner at KISS cafe. It was an invite only dinner pop up that normally held twice a month. It was a ln an Italian theme dinner night. From the Italian wedding soup, chicken dish, and home made spaghetti and sausage meatballs were a treat to my mouth! Really recommend this place for their special dinner pop up.
If you’re from the NJ/NY area, like I am, and on the hunt for a bagel that actually tastes like home, Kiss Café is a hidden gem in SC. I came in for breakfast and was blown away by how authentic their bagels are — the texture, chew, and flavor are exactly what you’d find back up north. That’s not something you come across often this far south. The café itself has a cozy, welcoming vibe, perfect for a casual breakfast or grabbing something to go. Service was friendly and quick, which made the experience even better. Best of all, our dog was well taken care of. As soon as we sat down, she got ice cold water and pets. They are extremely dog friendly on their covered patio. Whether you’re a bagel purist missing the NJ/NY flavor or just someone who appreciates a solid breakfast, this spot is absolutely worth checking out. I’ll definitely be back, the next time I travel to Charleston!
First time here and I can’t wait to go back. The food was delicious and very flavorful. We had Denise as our server and she was a dream. She went above and beyond, even offering a taster of their gravy since I was on the fence about my order. Delicious gravy btw. Service was very quick and everyone was kind. I had two of their specials, the watermelon mimosa x2 (pictured) and their Fiesta Skillet. Both phenomenal. My friend had the sloppy kiss skillet, a chocolate milk, a regular mimosa, and we split the biscuits and gravy. I could barely put my fork down. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing breakfast or brunch.
What an amazing breakfast spot! We visited Kiss Cafe on Saturday morning, and it absolutely exceeded expectations. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food… incredible! The brisket skillet was hands down the BEST I’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. I even had to ask who made it — big shoutout to Britt for that unforgettable dish! The avocado toast was also delicious and definitely worth trying. On top of the fantastic food, the service was just as impressive. Denise took such great care of us — attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. What a great team they have here! Even if there’s a little wait, trust me — grab a seat outside, relax, and know it’s 100% worth it. Highly recommend Kiss Cafe to anyone looking for a standout breakfast experience. Can’t wait to come back!
