What a find! Had lunch here yesterday and what a surprise. It is located in the Burchfield Penney Art Center's (first floor). We enjoyed the entire experience. The service was attentive; the food was delicious and plentiful. Loved not only the menu choices but the options to enjoy them. Will definitely go back.
Absolute hidden gem of Elmwood Avenue dining at the moment. Got a Perfect Pair with a half french dip panini and vegan African peanut stew - both were fantastic and perfect on a cold day. Only complaint is that I wish it was opened when I was a Buff State student!
What a great hidden gem! We went here for lunch after visiting the art museum across the road. Since we were doing a comparative tour of wings for dinner, we wanted a healthier and lighter lunch. My husband and I each got the duet of soups, which had 2 soups, a light salad, and bread. There was a bit of a wait, but that was okay. All of the soups we tried were great! The employees (owners??) were also incredibly kind and very apologetic they didn't have a high chair for our baby. He happily noshed on some bread. I highly recommend this place! The only thing I wish they had is a soup flight with 4 mini soups.
Best kept secret in Buffalo State area. The friendly welcoming staff makes you feel like you have known them forever. The fantastic fresh selections are a refreshing treat. My choice of Turkey & Brie sandwich was simply delicious. Real carved turkey on a generous grilled sandwich. Large enough to share. You’ll be glad that you didn’t. Soups are always fresh home made and unique. Seek them out when you need a treat for your soul. Tucked into the beautiful Birchfield Penney Art Center front entrance- plan your day to enjoy the museum too. Though there is no fee required to enjoy the Roux Cafe itself. You may also get your order to go. Love the cozy atmosphere and quiet retreat.
Loved this hidden gem. Excellent food, wonderful staff and great atmosphere. Love the fresh flowers on the tables. Enjoyed the soup-salad-panini combo.
