Crema's Take
“This no-frills donut shop in Champaign takes pride in their lard-fried donuts that earn passionate defenders among visitors who appreciate the traditional, unpretentious approach. They pair those substantial donuts with Mad Goat coffee, making it an ideal stop for folks who want real, satisfying pastries without the fancy fuss—though maybe grab some napkins on your own to keep the frosting pristine.”

Definitely do not let the reviews fool you, these donuts are legit. The staff was friendly, service was very fast, and the donuts were awesome. My wife is not a fan of donuts and she loved hers. They were so good that I completely forgot to take a picture and they were gone quick! Would highly recommend!
Disgusting donuts. The flavor lingers in your mouth like the smell of wet dog. I was genuinely excited to have donuts fried in lard. I regularly use lard, beef tallow and bacon fat in my cooking at home. I’m not an entitled vegetarian. I have donuts every weekend with my family of 6. We all agreed the after taste was gross and tried a bite of every donut in our dozen to see if they all tasted bad. The taste made us gag. We threw them all away! I eat donuts from every place you can buy them, including every grocery store and gas station. I’ve had bougie donuts, basic donuts, processed and packaged donuts, and plenty of homemade donuts-You can get better donuts at the Walmart bakery, or really anywhere. These are the worst donuts I’ve ever had in 30 years. Way over hyped.
First of all, do not look at the poor reviews! The audacity of these vegetarians, coming to a brand new Business page and giving it a one star review, when they didn’t even try their product because it wasn’t catered to them, is a whole new level of entitlement. Or the person that came after close ( Mind you this establishment is open till 4 PM ) and then proceeded to write an entire book on why they should’ve been served, the delusion in these reviews is top-tier! Anywho, these are the absolute best damn donuts I’ve had in the last 30 years. They remind me of the donuts we had as kids before everything turned to crap. They are fluffy, and soft, fried in delicious lard to perfection! They have plenty of icing and glaze, and just melt in your mouth! The storefront was immaculately clean with cute decor. The staff was super friendly and very helpful, explaining all the different flavors and varieties. I also purchased a cinnamon roll the size of a dinner plate and an iced latte that was delicious and everything was reasonably priced. The blueberry cobbler donut was our absolute favorite, can’t wait to get more. 12/10 overall… So happy for this wonderful addition to the CU area, keep up the great work!!!!
Didn't try the doughnuts since they use lard, but they sure did look good. My significant other said they were good, particularly because they weren't too fancy. They serve Mad Goat coffee, so that was a nice surprise. 😊 The shop is organized and smells very good. Prices are so so.
My experience there was excellent. The donuts ans coffee were very tasty. The only issue was that they put napkins in the bag such that they got all over the frosting of the donuts, making those napkins unusable.
