Crema's Take

Medici Roasting is a beloved neighborhood anchor in Austin where early risers and afternoon work-sessioners both find their groove, backed by genuinely excellent cappuccinos and a serious milk program that accommodates every preference. The espresso-forward drinks hit harder when you catch them on a good day, and the pastries are legitimately worth the visit on their own, though consistency seems to be a work in progress. It's the kind of place where regulars camp out for hours and the vibe stays warm and welcoming whether you're there for quiet focus or morning conversation with friends.

Food was good, but would have been better heated up. I personally found the coffee bad. I had a lavender honey latte and it was both very bitter and soapy. We ordered 2 lattes, a muffin, and a sweet danish, and the price was ~$24. I don't live in Austin so I don't know if that's common, but it seemed high based on other local shops I've attended. The bathrooms were a bit beat up looking and need some TLC. The music was mostly classic rock.

My experience at Medici Roasting was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. Their coffee is rich, smooth, and freshly roasted — you can really taste the quality. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready with great recommendations. A true gem for coffee lovers in Austin!

We got the vanilla latte and the tropa matcha and the drinks were good. They’re not incredible, but they’re decent. The muffin was very good though. The service was excellent and they made sure we liked our drinks, plus they were very polite. The place is cute, and lots of dogs outside which was very nice. Overall, they were great, I just expected slightly more “wow” coffee! I would definitely give it a try if your nearby! Xoxo, Gossip girl

Need to remove a star for service since their drinks have been terrible lately. If you want to read go in afternoon.there is lot of chatter in the morning from the the old people meeting in the morning over coffee. I like their music, seating bright view through the windows and reasonably priced good quality coffee. Staple place for weekend reads!!

Excellent cappuccino. They have a “milk” for every diet - oat, almond, 1/2 & 1/2, Heavy Whipping Cream, etc. This is a well used and well loved coffee spot with every type of carb filled treat one could hope for (just wish they had some low carb options, too - but they are hardly alone in being a coffee shop that only has carb food options) I love curling up on their only couch, situated right by a beautiful picture window, that is framed by a pretty flowering vine. Some people are prone to having work phone calls inside - but again this has become the norm at many coffee spots. Overall a warm and inviting spot to sip coffee and get some work done.
