Revival Cafe & Kitchen

Crema's Take
“Revival Cafe & Kitchen in Somerville has earned loyal regulars with its genuinely welcoming baristas and thoughtful coffee service—think espresso paired with sparkling water on the side. The real draw is their inventive breakfast sandwiches and pastries that go beyond typical cafe fare, though portions can feel lean for the price. With a cute patio, a mix of quick-grab and lingering vibes, and staff who make you feel like you're among friends, it's the kind of neighborhood spot that becomes part of your routine.”

The coffee tasted good, but it felt overpriced for the size. The “Salt-N-Pepa” egg sandwich was very disappointing. The egg tasted processed and microwaved, and I stopped eating after 2 bites. The highlight was the pastries. The coffee cake and blueberry muffin were both solid. Overall, not a great experience, and not somewhere I’d hurry back to.
Amazing, beautiful baristas. Anna, Nick and Kylie were so sweet and welcoming. Felt like home! Would definitely come in more often. AND they serve espresso with sparkling water on the side. Bagels are great.
Local chain café serving unique pastries and sandwiches. Didn’t know about Revival until last year, but since my first visit, I’ve been coming here regularly for breakfast sandwiches. The sandwiches run on the smaller side for the price, but the quality makes them worth it. My favorite is the Jimmy Pesto, which comes with egg, feta, and their housemade muffins. The muffins are soft, porous, and perfectly engineered to soak up every drop of the sunflower seed pesto. It’s a flavor bomb that makes you forget you just spent $12 on something the size of a hockey puck. Of the other specials I’ve tried, the fried chicken sandwich was solid. I’m less convinced by their pastries overall, but the coffee cake was my favorite so far. This location is close to Davis Square, so it can get a bit crowded, though they do open up a small outdoor patio when the weather’s nice, which helps.
So to truly understand the amazingness of this cafe you have to know that I am morally averse to egg whites, green vegetables, or standing for extended periods of time. Yet somehow this place can get me to wolf down a Bageliscious breakfast sandwich (containing not only egg whites but excessive broccoli of all things!) while standing in the corner during their busiest times thanking the gods that I am so fortunate to live within walking distance of this glorious place. Every human I have interacted with there is a delight and makes the experience even better. 12/10 on a scale of five stars! Don't ever change (unless that change is to make a soy-free bagel so I can bring my partner to experience your joy too) 💜
Cute breakfast spot with delicious sandwiches and pastries and a little patio seating, also their coffee is great!!
