Crema's Take

This split-level Kalamazoo gem pairs a casual espresso bar downstairs with a full sit-down restaurant upstairs, making it perfect whether you're grabbing a quick cortado or settling in for a longer visit. The in-house bakery program shows real care—cookies and pastries are made fresh daily—and the barista team (including local artists like Skai) brings genuine skill to traditional drinks like cafe au lait and cafe miel. It's the kind of place where coffee nerds, college students, and art lovers all find their rhythm.

While we waited for our table upstairs, we grabbed some coffee, Chai, and got chocolate. The coffee was good but the Chai and the hot chocolate were average. Probably need to try it again though.

This is the lower strictly coffee/tea/other beverages and baked goods half of a mostly college study spot. The upstairs dine in restaurant area is called The Crows Nest where you sit down and eat, both areas are fantastic to sit by yourself and study or bring a small group to either study or socialize and are wifi provided so long as you purchase a drink or meal. Everything from service to meals/drinks are 4 stars and the atmosphere is a solid 5 star from me because it's cosey and soft lighting

They have cafe au lait here. Not the same as NOLA though. I think the milk was not hot enough. Cookie and other baked goods look very good. I didn't know they bake everything in house. Except the cookies I think. First time I try Vegan Zucchini Bread. Wow. It is moist and pretty much like a cinnamon pound cake. I assume it is healthier than regular bread too. Very nice and cozy. Staff is friendly and they have free wifi. Nice place to take a break and enjoy some coffee.

Stopped in for coffee and was pleasantly surprised to find not only a great shop, but also a space that supports local art. The barista, Skai, is both a talented artist and a true professional. She shared how much she enjoys working here and even pointed me toward other creative spaces for artists to learn and grow. Her salted caramel latte was fantastic! The shop itself has recently been remodeled while I can’t compare it to before, I can say the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The bathrooms are clean, the vibe is positive, and the overall experience was wonderful. Love seeing a place that blends coffee, community, and creativity. I’ll definitely be back. ☕️🎨🖼️

This cafe is really convenient if you’re waiting to get into the Crow’s Nest, but it’s also very nice on its own. The cafe miel I had was quite nice and the honey was mixed in very well. The staff was friendly despite the crowds, and I still was served fairly quickly. It’s worth stopping by even if you’re not going upstairs.
