Crema's Take
“Nestled in the heart of Travelers Rest with views of the Reedy River, Carmella's is a modern gem that expertly balances serious coffee craft with an impressive dessert bar, including standout gluten-free options that keep locals returning for special occasions. The vibe is equally welcoming whether you're settling in for hours with your laptop, grabbing a French-style coffee and creative drink, or pairing a perfectly executed sandwich with housemade gelato and sorbet. It's the kind of place where the staff moves with unhurried warmth even during the rush, making it feel less like a transaction and more like a proper café moment.”

Absolute gem on the Reedy! We come for any special occasion to indulge in the absolute BEST gluten free treats downtown. The drinks are all so unique and fun, and the ones I've tried are all delicious. Every penny spent here is worth it!
First time at Carmella’s. Super clean and modern atmosphere. Easy to spend a long time enjoying an amazing cup of coffee and dessert. Huge selection of meals, coffees, deserts and even gelatos / sorbets. Tiramisu was amazing!!!
Treats in the Heart of Falls Park! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is an excellent café and dessert spot perfectly situated for a break while enjoying the park. Whether you’re stopping in for a full meal or just a sweet treat, the quality here is outstanding. Delicious Menu: The pizza, cookies, and drinks were all phenomenal. It’s the perfect fuel for a day of exploring. Efficient Service: Despite being in a popular location, the service is quick and the staff is incredibly friendly. Value: The prices are very fair, especially considering the prime location and high quality of the food. Atmosphere: The seating is intimate and can feel a bit cramped, but they offer both indoor and outdoor spots to enjoy your meal. Summary: Between the great prices and the top-tier food, this is a must-stop gem in Falls Park. A perfect spot to grab a bite and soak in the local scenery! 🍕🍪☕🌳
I have walked by this place about a year ago, so when staying at a nearby hotel on this visit to Greenville, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I went in right after they opened for the day to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry. I ordered a small cup of coffee, not any special, funky, crazy coffee or espresso drink – simply coffee. That coffee was one of the worst cups of coffee I’ve ever had. It was thick and sour/bitter tasting. I would assume it was leftover from the night before, but I couldn’t imagine anyone would do this (praying no one would)! Could it be the blend they use? Perhaps, but it’s awful, so I hope not! The pastry I ordered was the Bombolini… It looked pretty good and when I bit into it, it was amazing! Very tasty and I love the texture of the dough. Definitely a very nice pasty, but it was sad that I couldn’t enjoy coffee with it, though I tried. I tried to take more sips of that coffee, but it was very tough, so I gave up after about 1/3 of the small cup. Service was decent. The place looked nice but I didn’t eat there, rather I took it to-go and ate in my hotel room and since it was raining, I wasn’t going to go back to complain about the coffee. Would I return? No. I get that they have great reviews, but if you can’t get coffee right, I’m done.
Really enjoyed trying this French style cafe. The Carmel apple cocktail was well balanced. The Southern BLT is the perfect sandwich for a quick bite. Even with long line the staff handled our order with care. Would highly recommend.
