Crema's Take

Mille is a French-inspired sanctuary in Santa Fe where buttery, impossibly flaky croissants and silky quiches transport you straight to Paris, all while bathed in the warm glow of the high desert light. The staff's genuine warmth—from greeting guests about wait times to crafting pastries worth the line—creates an atmosphere so inviting that visitors find themselves returning day after day. It's the kind of place where the ambiance, food, and hospitality combine to make you never want to leave.

A helpful employee met us outside to let us know that there was a long line. While he was warning us about the wait and exiting patron stopped and said that the food was well worth the wait. I am not normally one who has much tolerance for waiting in line, but she gave such a strong endorsement that we decided to pop in and see. There was a fair bit of a line, but we immediately liked the vibe of the place, and standing in line, we honed our appetite by watching plates of deliciousness being taken to the tables, and being consumed by other patrons. In the end, the coffee was fantastic, the pastries were delicious, and the service, once we reached the front of the line, was friendly and fast. We are glad we took the enthusiastic advice of the exiting patron!

Great place for quiche and croissants! We ordered the Lorraine and Spinach quiches and both were custardy, rich and flavorful. The croissant was very flaky and buttery, just perfect. We would highly recommend this place...can't wait to go back again!

In Santa Fe, where the sun bleeds gold over adobe, there lies Mille French, a sanctuary of taste, a beacon of *joie de vivre*. We entered, drawn by whispers of its charm, and sat beneath soft light, the air thick with the scent of butter and promise. The berries and cream crêpe arrived first—a delicate fold, thin as a lover’s whisper, cradling ripe berries that burst like summer’s heart, their sweetness tempered by a cloud of cream, pure and unyielding. Each bite was a dance, a fleeting waltz of fruit and finesse. The quiche Florentine followed, its crust a brittle hymn to patience, golden and crisp, guarding a heart of spinach and cheese, soft as a sigh. It was not mere food but a memory of French mornings, of markets alive with green and gold. The Monte Cristo sandwich, oh, it was a triumph—ham and cheese pressed between bread, dusted with sugar, a paradox of savory and sweet, crisp yet tender, like a poet’s duel won at dawn. The cortado, small and fierce, cut through the richness with its bitter kiss, a spark of espresso tempered by milk’s embrace. The black tea, dark and warm, was a quiet companion, steeping the moment in calm. Mille French is no mere restaurant; it is a canvas where flavors paint joy. The service was a quiet ballet, attentive yet unobtrusive, each smile a nod to care. Five stars, not for perfection, but for truth—for delivering a morning that lingered like a song. We left sated, hearts full, vowing to return. *C’est magnifique*.

Best Restaurant in Santa Fe and deserves all 5 stars! We were in town for three days and ate breakfast there each day!! The CROISSANTS!! I felt like I was back in France! It was flaky, light, rich, buttery goodness on a plate with French Butter and a tiny Bon Maman Preserve! The first day we ordered the Brunch for Two and I was almost giddy when it arrived on a Le Creuset three-tier server! Two baguettes, a croissant, a pain au chocolate and two pieces of quiche made the perfect breakfast! When we went back the next two mornings and ordered the Croque Madame and a Croissant with butter and jam. The Croque Madame was AMAZING… the layers of flavor and fresh ingredients were incredible. The crowd was friendly and happy with everyone clearly enjoying and appreciating their meals. You order at the counter, find a seat and staff will bring you your coffee and food. The line moved quickly and we always found a seat even though the restaurant was always busy. Don’t miss this fantastic restaurant.
