Crema's Take

This beloved San Francisco institution has perfected the art of milk tea with an unconventional approach—pulling tea through an espresso machine to create silky, creamy results that rival anything you'd find in Hong Kong. The owner's infectious passion for quality tea shines through in their curated selection and willingness to let you taste-test anything before committing, while the relaxed, approachable vibe makes it perfect for lingering with a laptop or meeting a friend. Whether you're after their signature creamy oolong, an exceptional matcha milk tea, or diving into their top-shelf loose leaf collection, you're in the hands of someone who genuinely loves what they do.

Best hk milk tea outside of Hong Kong. They pull the tea through an espresso machine, definitely not a traditional preparation but the results are delicious.

Best tea shop in the world. They have everything from top shelf to standard teas. They'll let you try whatever you want. The owner is the nicest and coolest guy you'll ever meet. This is an SF staple.

I always come here for my favorite creamy oolong. They recently started serving milk tea and I am obsessed! You can pick any tea for a base. Best matcha milk tea and HK milk tea I’ve had in ages.

Excellent selection. Highly knowledgeable owner with an unpretentious, delightfully irreverent style. Gracious, helpful staff. The pricing is honest. It’s the ideal tea shop for three types of people: those who know tea or want to learn about tea and anyone in between.

Aromatic teas and great service make this place worth visiting. The tea here is expensive, but it smells amazing. It's rarely busy and you can buy tea gift boxes, teacup sets, and t-shirts in addition to loose leaf teas. If you're very serious about tea, you can get fancy teapots and teacups here. If you're unsure of what you want, just ask whoever's working. I've never felt rushed and service has always been pleasant. The lychee black tea smelled incredible and tasted good too.
