Longhorn Street Cafe

Crema's Take

Tucked inside Fredericksburg's livestock auction barn, Longhorn Street Cafe is where local ranchers fuel up on genuinely excellent, no-frills steaks and chicken fried steak at prices that feel like a steal. The intimate counter seating fills fast with a mix of working cattlemen and savvy visitors who've discovered this authentic slice of Hill Country life, where the friendly staff treats you like family and the ribeye rivals restaurants charging triple the price. It's the kind of place where you're not just grabbing coffee and breakfast—you're stepping into the real Fredericksburg, surrounded by the people and culture that built this town.

Small seating area that fills up quickly. Staff is extremely friendly, service is like your in their home. Menu is small, beef or fish/shrimp. Sirloin was tender and flavorful. Almost every customer got the steak. Meat comes with 2 sides and a drink for a very reasonable price. Order at the register and seat yourself. Highly recommend. We got there at 11am on a Thursday. One other couple was there. By the time we finished, it was full.

If you want to eat where the cattleman do. It’s here. $13.00 chicken fried steak meal. Simple and satisfying. Great place to watch the cattle come for sale.

$20 for a delicious lunch meal. Fast, friendly service. No BS! Their ribeye was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time! Can't beat the price and portion you get. Support your local stockyard! Their food is excellent!

Great food in Live stock County auction barn. Mostly ranchers and their wives, but a few people from the city, you can tell they found this place very good and reasonably priced compared to Fredericksburg prices.

Definitely an interesting experience, almost feels like you're eating in the staff break room at a cattle feed lot. Lots of employee side talk. Lots of locals and hard working ranchers. One of the best burgers and french fries I've had in a long time. Served quickly.
