Crema's Take
“Tucked away in Durham, this hidden gem rewards those who seek it out with a thoughtfully designed space that flows from an intimate bar to a bright café to a lush bamboo-lined patio, each zone offering its own vibe for everything from solo coffee sessions to group gatherings. The menu moves beyond standard espresso drinks into creative territory, and the communal table approach fosters a genuinely welcoming atmosphere where strangers become neighbors over excellent coffee and fresh, generously portioned food. It's the kind of place that feels like a discovery worth keeping, where the beautiful bones of the space match the care put into every cup and bite.”

Unique place, love the bamboo outside. However it was self serve ...we didn't know that so looked for hostess we had to ask a guest. They charge gratuity and we saw our server once cause they brought us food, asked for hot pepper past and she said it's up there and pointed to a self service bar. Food was good and large portions.
Always out and about and stumbled into this gem!!!!! Hard to see but once you are there you'll enjoy. From bar to Cafe to outside seating you could enjoy all atmosphere of your liking. Once you find out where you would like to sit be sure to stay there after you order your food. You have to order from a qr code. No waitress or greeter you sit yourself and enjoy the rest. The menu was not big but many things to choose from. Everything was delicious from the hot tea to the food. I will definitely be returning to try out more items!!!!
I first went to NAMU in late August for lunch with my former internship supervisor. They mentioned how good NAMU was and recommended that we go, which I was down to do because of the positive sentiments I had seen online about that place. I ordered Bibimbap and Sparkling Yuzu Tea during our outing. I really enjoyed it and knew that I would eventually return to NAMU to try something else! Indeed, I went for the 2nd time two days ago. This time I ordered Bo's Special, which is expensive due to the additional costs of adding beef and kimchi on top. Though despite the price, it's sooooo tasty and worth the money! And I can also confirm that all the positive opinions you've heard about NAMU are true. Their food is great, the mini sauce bar is cute, and it really does seem like a great place to congregate. The rustic interior radiates warm and cozy vibes, which I love! I will admit that having to place a digital order at the table can be confusing for folks who are not tech-savvy, especially senior citizens. To me, the online interface was easy enough to follow, but others might have a hard time following it if they're not used to ordering food in that way. Just wanted to bring that up, because it's something worth keeping in mind. Tech-savvy or not, NAMU is truly worth the visit! Attached are photos from my first two visits: the first photo is from late August and shows the Bibimbap. The second photo is from Monday and shows Bo's Special.
Atmosphere was beautiful, plenty of room and sitting area for a big crowd and cozy for first dates. The food was delicious and portion size was huge. The atmosphere was welcoming and service was good.
Love the open seating kinda shared atmosphere welcoming people to share tables. This is Bo's special and then mixed with the spicy sauce they have. Always crispy fresh greens that stay nice even when mixing in the hot meat and sauces. Service is a cool Idea that also like the seating get people to interact if you want a beer you are welcome to go up to the bar and grab one, but doesnt make you go through the whole formal waiter/customer drag. Definitely big but finishable portions. The for the price of a certain amount of guys burger you can get what is pictured above. Price seemed justified for all the fresh ingredients. Highly recommended
