Page Roasting Company

Crema's Take
“Tucked away in Urbana with an appealingly industrial vibe of exposed ducts and wood floors, Page Roasting Company is a serious espresso destination where the beans inspire genuine devotion from regulars. Whether you're after a traditional macchiato or their creative seasonal drinks like the Harvest Moon latte, this is a spot that rewards lingering—the kind of place where baristas actually engage with you and the atmosphere welcomes both focused coffee appreciation and unhurried meetings with friends.”

This is more like it. Glad I happened across this spot a little further south from where I was heading, but definitely worth the trip. Somewhat industrial atmosphere with wood floors and exposed ductwork, lots of wood furniture, but love the communal approach with large tables and benches on both sides. Nice menu of Java drinks, but also fun selection of bagels and sandwiches to start off your day. In addition, they had a few yummy looking pastries as well. Espresso was definitely more sour than bitter, and almost tart. But, after a few sips, found myself enjoying it more than I expected. Latte was well executed with a good amount of foam and just the right amount of sweetness from the vanilla. I also got the Lox bagel and you have a choice of asiago cheese bagel, everything bagel, or plain bagel. This certainly isn’t a New York bagel in terms of girth, but I had a great chew, and a plethora of seasoning. Lox was great, and you can never go wrong with capers and red onions. Really cool spot plan on coming back on my next trip.
When I die, bury me in Page Roasting Company beans (whole). This is the best coffee in Champaign and, quite possibly, the entire world.
I love local spots like this for the people and the atmosphere. The place was clean, bright and inviting. The batista made a couple recommendations and I tried the harvest moon latte but would try something different when I visit again.
Cons My friends and I went a couple of days ago. Ordered 3 ice lattes and a traditional macchiato. All tastes bitter. We ended up pitching them. Very disappointed about the products as we were excited to try it. Pros The cafe itself has a nice ambiance. Quiet, clean and expressive we loved the art work s featured. Staff members were polite.
I ordered from the Page Roasting Co last month and due to a lot of mix-ups with USPS, I never received my package. It actually sat out in the metal parcel box for 2 weeks before being sent back. The company reached out to me about it and offered to send me a new bag for free given that the quality likely degraded out in the summer heat. Within a week a new bag had arrived (and USPS managed to get it to me this time.) The coffee itself, Ethiopia Guji, was delicious! I'd absolutely recommend them for such amazing customer service and amazing coffee as well!
