Crema's Take

This beloved Newport Beach neighborhood gem has been a reliable gathering spot for over a decade, drawing a loyal mix of locals, cyclists, and visitors with genuinely affordable pricing that surprises LA transplants. The real stars are their house-made pastries and exceptional bread—reviewers rave specifically about the baguettes—paired with a balanced house coffee that complements rather than competes with the food. Despite occasional service hiccups during their characteristically quick morning rushes, the clean, aroma-filled space and made-to-order approach keep people coming back, even those who've moved away.

Coming from LA im surprised how affordable the pastries, sandwiches and coffees are. Order is super quick but we were slightly confused what to order as our turn was super quick. Didnt know we shouldve ordered the pastries all together as well so we had to get in line again, but it wasnt a big deal! Iced latte was less than $5, insanely affordable. And Great baguette The man who took our order didnt seem to be really happy when we ask question about the sandwich). But I still got the tarragon chicken anyways and it wasn't bad! Also they only have cold sandwich and we wish we knew earlier. My partner got the curry sandwich and it wasn't our favorite. It’s too sweetened to my taste and it was not spicy, which derive from the usual Indian style curry. Still love everything all in all. We learn and we’ll definitely be back! Update: we came back twice and the servers were great! :) also you can heat up the sandwiches!

I ordered tuna salad but the said I did not paid for it. I feel a little bit disappointed. Overall , the dessert is super sweet. I hope the sandwich can be heated. House made coffee balanced the dessert very nicely. I like the environment but it is not clean up well. I like firehouse sandwiches better…

Fond and popular local stop for neighbors, tourists, and bicycle groups. Popular for sandwiches, pastries, and a good solid cup of coffee. Order at the counter, wait for your name to be called and then take your food to an outdoor table, an indoor counter seat, or a nearby park for a picnic.

Was my to go place when I lived nearby decade ago. Still busy in the morning, parking can be tricky but manageable. The place is big, clean and filled with baked goods and café aroma. Line can be long but moved quickly. Staff are nice, fast and attentive to your ordered. If you order anything that needs to prepare in the back, suck as sandwiches, soup, salads, etc. then you might have to wait abit long longer (5-10mins) depending on how many ahead of you. There are window seatings inside and there is a courtyard on the side of the store that covered with trees and plenty of table and chairs. The foods are good, not the best but good. Prices are not bad either, and you can choose what go into your sandwich or others, which is great. Glad I stopped by to relive the good old time and tasted the good food.

Go for the baguettes and sandwiches! AMAZING BREAD! The black iced tea was fresh and had an excellent taste. Very affordable and knocks the socks off any chain restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Outdoor eating area was clean, had nice landscaping and partial sun. I’ll be back.
