Crema's Take

Tucked away in a historic flour factory, Back Table is a hidden gem that's so much more than coffee—it's a vibrant community arts collective with multiple rooms designed for everything from focused work to creative collaboration. The crowd here is genuinely warm and welcoming, the drinks are exceptional, and the late-night hours plus constant roster of events make it feel less like a café and more like a cultural hub where something interesting is always happening. This is the kind of place that rewards you for seeking it out, offering the rare combination of excellent specialty drinks, spacious comfort, and a real sense of connection.

Came here a few weeks ago for a meeting and loved the vibe. It’s off the beaten path and could be hard to miss if you don’t know about it. That’s what makes it unique because it’s the type of hangout were you will find a lot of regulars. Artist, musicians and just cool laid back friendly people. It’s a bar that also has coffee and non alcoholic drinks. There are some desserts available , bagels and pizza as well. There is usually some live music going on by local performers. The staff is very friendly fly. The artwork both inside and outside is really cool and adds to the hip vi e. We are from Winston Salem but attended a comedy show at the Steven Tanger Center and decided to stop by here for a quick drink and relaxation. Great place to come and do some work or just chill, check it out!

The Back Table is a place of Community, Connection & CoCreation! Friendliest groups of folks ever! The drinks are superb, the vibes are excellent, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. They host tons of events and open mic on Mondays is always a treat! Shout outs to Agis, Addie, Josh, Gayland, their supportive partners and our very own Laura Jane Vincent and Tom!! Love this space!! 1 year on the books :)

Very contemporary! Iwas honestly looking for a crusty coffee shop with as little foot traffic as possible. I didnt get that here. I got more! They have different corners and things going on. Theres a photo booth, a thrift shop and a stage for music. Very nice venue for events. Bartender said they got comedy, music, open mic and such goings on. defo coming back. Not to mention the coffee was very distinct and yum! I love it here!

What a hidden gem of a coffee shop, and community arts collective! Located in a historic bread/flour factory :) This coffee shop is open until late a night with a HUGE amount of daily events from morning to evening ranging from open mics, mini renaissance fairs, movie nights, raves, book clubs, art market pop ups, craft sessions, and historic presentations like “Sudan Deep Dive”. You should seriously follow their instagram and join in on these constant flows of great community events, often free or cheap. The food is minimal but still good options of pastries, chips, bagels, and instant noodles. A large amount of great tea selections and very good coffee! The space here is massive, so a quiet spot to study is very attainable.

If you haven’t heard of Back Table yet, do yourself a favor and check them out. This isn’t just a coffee shop — it’s a full experience. They have multiple rooms designed for relaxing and hanging out, with art on the walls, musical instruments scattered throughout, and a dedicated space for live music. Josh was incredibly welcoming and even gave us a personal tour of the place. Of course, we ordered coffee (which was excellent), but they also offer a full bar and a variety of sparkling waters. The vibe is creative, laid-back, and community-focused. They're not just serving drinks — they’re building a scene, hosting everything from music nights to yoga sessions. Definitely worth a visit.
