Sunrise Coffee
5890 S Virginia St, Reno, NV
Crema's Take
“Sunrise Coffee is a warm, unpretentious breakfast destination where the staff genuinely makes you feel welcome and the food arrives in generous, satisfying portions—think chorizo omelettes and Mambo mimosas that keep locals coming back. The sunny outdoor seating and family-friendly vibe make it perfect for lingering over coffee and pastries with friends, though fair warning that quality and consistency can occasionally vary between visits.”

This place is fantastic!! All ladies were lovely, fantastic service. My carnitas Benedict was delicious. My Mambo mimosas was super yummy. Next time I am back in the area I will enjoy this place again.
We had a good quality breakfast here. I had the chorizo omelette and my daughter had blueberry pancakes. Food was good and large portions. Good coffee and juice. A little pricey in my opinion but I would come back. Clean and quiet restaurant. Good solid breakfast choice in South Reno!
Visited 2/14 around 1 PM. Food was terrible and I only ate one bite of my entire meal. Asked for scrambled eggs and received one big folded egg? My waffles were supposed to be Belgian but were in fact regular waffles. I asked our waitress and she said that they were Belgian waffles - clearly doesn't know the difference. My sausage was dry and inedible. Our waiter never once asked if I enjoyed my meal or if there was anything wrong with it. Instead, she just asked if we wanted to go boxes. She also watched us leave our meals untouched and didn’t show any sort of customer service. I wish I could say the $30 I spent was worth it but I left hungry and unsatisfied. Would not recommend.
Pros: Very good food and large portions. Friendly staff. Con: $.80 service fee for credit card. They charged me $1.50 extra for a biscuit even though it states on menu biscuit or toast included w/omelet. When I pointed this out, waitress still did not reimburse me. She said it used to be stated on menu. Waitress forgot my coffee. I had to ask for it.
We’ve been there maybe 10 times now and the food has always been consistent as has the service. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s definitely worth it for the food and to support local. The one thing I would change though is the decoration. There is so much potential for nice decorating. There is a huge wood bar back, with a few glasses on it but primarily seems to be used for storage. I’ve been in there and they’ve been half empty boxes worse than that though to me personally is the delicious selection of fake flowers. There’s even a cowboy boot style vase, which has Christmas decor of some sort inside of it to me fake flowers just collect dust dirt and grime. It doesn’t help when none of them match. I will also say the last time we went I used the restrooms for the first time And they could definitely do with a fresh lick of paint and new caulking around the toilet. None of this will stop me going, but my goodness I wish I could get my hands on it because I could really make it beautiful.
