UWM Grind

Crema's Take

UWM Grind is a dependable spot for a solid cup of coffee and a pastry, where friendly staff move quickly and the cozy seating invites you to linger with homework or a good book. While their drip coffee is consistently good and regulars swear by daily visits, mixed drinks like their white chocolate mochas can be inconsistent with syrup ratios, so stick with what they do best. The pricing runs a bit steep and bean quality could be stronger for the cost, but the welcoming atmosphere and made-to-order approach make it worth a visit if you're in the UWM area.

A nice coffee shop to relax with a cup and a pastry. Service is good and everyone has always been very friendly. Coffee and other drinks are made to order and are good. Seating is limited but not too bad. Everything is comfortable and they have decent hours; they are open past 5, which is good for evening classes.

I enjoy the coffee here, but get very disappointed when I get mixed drinks. I love drinking white chocolate mochas. They put so little in oh the syrup you cannot taste anything. This has happened to me multiple times. I love that they are attempting to be environmentally friendly, but the paper straws suck.

The coffee here is pretty solid and the service is always friendly. Pricing is a little high but you're going to expect that a coffee shop. I appreciate the variety of different specialty drinks and syrups. The Union location is frequently busy and I would suggest hitting up a different grind especially during busy hours.

I’ve only had drip coffee here but I come everyday of the week to grab coffee or to do homework. Some staff are not very friendly but I’m not really interested in anything other than getting my coffee. I also have had a handful of really pleasant baristas as well. I suggest bringing your own mug because they only charge for a small with a discount! So you can get a large sized coffee for less than the price of a small coffee.

Love this place. I've never had an issue with the staff and they're always quick with my drink and the drinks always taste good. The coffee beans are a little to be desired though and for $10 a lb I'd rather buy Starbucks or some other brand. The beans they sold me were old and dried out...coffee was so gross I had to toss the bag. :(
