Cups in The Quarter
1855 Lakeland Dr # D10, Madison, MS
Crema's Take
“Tucked in Madison's historic Quarter, this Cups location delivers espresso-forward coffee alongside an impressive tea selection that wins over non-coffee drinkers, all served by baristas like Jacob who treat regulars like old friends. The vintage, cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for lingering with your laptop or meeting colleagues, though you'll want to call ahead about oat milk availability since this location seems to run short more often than its sister shops. Fair warning: cigarette smoke can be noticeable depending on the day, but the rich coffee and excellent pastries—like their standout banana cake—keep neighborhood regulars coming back daily.”

This location has been out of oat milk on several occasions and I have never experienced this at any of the other Cups locations. Because of this I have started calling ahead of time, but now I can’t even get them to answer the phone so that I don’t waste the trip to this store versus going to another Cups.
I’ve been to many Cups locations and loved every single one, which is why this experience caught me completely off guard. The moment you walk in, the smell of cigarette smoke hits you, strongly. Not faint or subtle, but overwhelming, as if everything inside had absorbed it. Maybe being placed next to a cigar shop is not the best choice for a coffee shop. Unfortunately, the odor alone made this a one-and-done for us, which is a huge disappointment given how much we’ve enjoyed other Cups locations. We ended up purchasing our drinks and throwing them away at the next exit because the smell was just too much. 😮💨
I stopped by this bar in Jackson and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. I ordered a coffee and a slice of banana cake—both were excellent. The coffee was rich and comforting, and the banana cake was soft, moist, and full of flavor, the kind you remember long after. When I visited, the bar was almost empty, which made the atmosphere calm, cozy, and perfect for a quiet break. It felt like my own little hideaway in the middle of the city. And here’s the part that made it truly unforgettable: my cards didn’t work that day, and yet I still walked out without paying. Instead of making it awkward, the staff handled it with kindness and understanding. That personal touch turned an already good stop into an experience I’ll always remember. If you’re ever in Jackson, I highly recommend stopping by—you’ll feel welcome here.
always a good experience! Especially when Jacob is behind the counter, I know my coffee is going to be excellent. Me and my coworkers go at least once a day, and we are always happy to see he's the one working. He's the best!
I love this cute shop! It's so cozy and gives off vintage feels! My barista was very friendly and personable. I am not a coffee person at all, but their tea selection is huge and very impressive!
