Crema's Take
“Java Cat is a charming converted home on Madison's east side where you can linger over expertly pulled espresso drinks and fresh-baked bagels, whether you're settling in at a laptop for a few hours or catching up with a friend over pastries and tea. The spacious grounds and thoughtfully remodeled interior strike that rare balance between cozy study spot and genuinely welcoming gathering place, with the bonus of ample parking and a genuinely friendly staff who treat their regulars like neighbors. This is the kind of place where they'll chop fresh fruit cups to order for your kids and remember your name the next time you come in.”

I enjoy a cup of coffee and a bagel. The atmosphere was comfy and warm during winter time and during warm weather is enjoyable because of the outdoor seating. Is great place for study and to catch up with a friend with kids they have toys for them. My latte was delicious and loved the design.
Very friendly employees, very clean inside, drink was tasty. Strongly recommend! Hidden gem. Large parking area, very convenient.
Good coffee, great vibe, varied food options, I ordered a couple extra fruit cups to go for kids and it was all chopped fresh after I ordered. Super nice.
Stopped in on our way to Minneapolis. Met a friend for a hot beverage and bakery. It’s a small building, previously a home that has been repurposed and remodeled into a coffee shop. A white sided single floor with a couple of signs that let you know where they are. Plenty of parking out front. It was mid morning on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. There were several other small groups inside. The interior is bright and cheerful. Got a friendly greeting as we gave our orders. I got a London Fog Tea Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam), along with a Morning Bun. Got the drink in a mug and the pastry heated up. The London Fog was good but not great. It was a little weak and could have used more steeping. It was also warm but not hot. The Morning Bun was delicious. Lots of cinnamon and great texture. The noise level was a little loud, but we still let us have a casual conversation. Would stop back next time I am in the neighborhood. I’d be sure to emphasize the steeping and temperature for the London Fog.
Great little house unexpectedly tucked into the east side of Madison. Beautiful grounds for relaxing outside and lovely interior for doing the same. Known for coffees, teas, and breakfast, my friend and I tried a late lunch. Local bread used for a tasty club sandwich and delicious gelato for dessert! I highly recommend this awesome little gem. 😍
