Apple Tree Cafe and Bakery

Crema's Take
“Tucked away in a Lubbock strip mall, Apple Tree Cafe is a beloved local secret that's earning serious devotion for its exceptional breakfast and genuinely excellent coffee—reviewers keep expressing shock that this place isn't already packed with lines out the door. The quiet, welcoming atmosphere makes it equally perfect for a solo work session with your laptop or a leisurely sit-down meal where homemade biscuits and gravy seem to taste better than anywhere else in town. It's the kind of neighborhood spot where regulars show up daily and newcomers immediately wonder how they missed it for so long.”

I’m so mad. I’m so mad no one has told me about this place! I’ve tried just about every spot for breakfast in lubbock and this one literally is leaps and bounds better. Quiet atmosphere (8am Wed Morning) Fresh orange juice Good coffee Delicious omelette Homemade hashbrowns GRILLED BISCUITS Friendly staff The owner, Sylvia was very sweet, hope to return soon!
Unbelievable how good this place is. All around service and food was quite good. It seems to be a somewhat unknown place set in a strip mall. Local patrons are usually there every day. We had biscuits and gravy, so tasty. Eggs, hash browns, bacon cooked to taste, just right. Endless coffee is awesome. Tables inside and out, but seating is limited. We had no problem with that. Definitely will be back. Thank you!
So apple tree is nearly a hole in the Wall Cafe there in Lubbock! What is it's an amazing hole in the wall, as far as the restaurants go they had a homemade biscuits and gravy with the sweetest taste! Also had an amazing apple turnover and they're bacon was cooked to perfectionist crisp! But the atmosphere isn't so much for the younger crowd as it seemed to our seniors really enjoyed the place me and my friend were the only two that were probably under 40
We initially came for breakfast after having seen rave reviews. The place smells great, and the coffee is delicious. 5 stars + on coffee I was a little disappointed to see they did not offer waffles or oatmeal for breakfast. We opted for 2 cheeseburgers and fries. We waited for 30+ minutes for our food..... 😬 The burger was great!! Good ol' fashioned greasy burger, if that's which one desires. The tots, though good, were also a little heavy on the grease content.
Outstanding breakfast experience. Got my basic scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast but wanted a pancake to go with it. I saw the table next to us receiving one and realized it was a dinner plate sized pancake and had blueberry compote on it, so I ordered my breakfast and a pancake to split. Eggs, hash browns and bacon all cooked perfectly and the pancake was just outstanding- a light crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We were a party of 10 and everything came out hot and fresh, but don’t be in a hurry. The place is pretty small but they make it work. Cozy and bright is the ambiance, and would highly recommend checking them out. We’ll be back next time we’re in Lubbock.
