Crema's Take
“Nestled in a Barnstable strip mall, this cozy breakfast and lunch spot punches well above its weight with genuinely homemade touches like blue cheese dressing and crispy hand-cut chips that keep locals coming back. The warm, unpretentious atmosphere and genuinely smiling staff create the kind of place where families linger over coffee and kids' meals feel special, making it a true small-town gathering spot on Cape Cod rather than just another cafe.”

Friendly small/med sit down breakfast cafe in Barnstable strip mall. Went during low period, still had customers. Seated immediately wherever we wanted by smiling staff. Coffee hot. Menu had essentially anything breakfasty except waffles, which can be hard to find around these parts. I got a sausage/cheddar/onion omelette (they grilled the onions!!), and my husband got a combo with fantastic corned beef hash. Everything arrived quickly and piping hot, no mistakes, very tasty. Waitstaff checked on us in a timely fashion, and we were in and out in just the right amount of time. People behind us had a small child and they accommodated to him with small portions. Five stars all around, absolutely recommend and will return. Did not use the bathroom, saw no obviously disabled people there except me and IMO it's a little tight for a wheelchair, but I wasn't using one. There was a POC working at the grill and he seemed to be treated with respect. His food was amazing. Guess that's all.
Had lunch with the kiddo and everything was delicious! I got the B.L.A.I salad with chicken salad, so fresh and the homemade blue cheese dressing was amazing! The parmesan fries with cherry pepper dipping sauce gets 2 thumbs up! My son got chocolate chip pancakes and bacon, he loved it all! Erika was our server who was excellent! My kid must have asked her a million questions and told her about his whole life, she listened and was so engaged. Great experience we will definitely be back!
From the outside it’s a cute place, the ambiance was warm the waitress greeted and seated us. The wait time between order and meal arrival was standard, we were there around lunch time on a Thursday. Not busy at all. The waitress checked and updated us on our meal status appropriately. At the end she forgot to inform us we needed to pay at the counter, another waitress had to as she noticed us waiting 😀. The food was tasty and filling, portion size was normal as were the price. Group of 4 the bill was about $100.00. For the road I got a muffin for the road. I was introduced to grilled muffin, not something I would try again. I don’t need to additional fat, in my head I imagine grill marks but I never thought about the oil or butter they had to put in the muffin to grill it. It wasn’t bad just not my thing at this stage of my life. Edit, I visited with my family February 22nd, I was served by Issy, she was a beautiful young lady, very knowledgeable courteous. The young lady that seated us was also very sweet. I tried the bacon FIG burger it was delicious. The bathroom is very clean and not overly deodorized. Would recommend every time. Keep up the good work you guys!!❤️❤️❤️
Buttercup cafe is a time honored breakfast tradition of excellence in food, service, and environment. Today’s visit showcased an ample selection of smoothies in addition to breakfast and lunch items. Our waitress was on top of her game, bringing us the avocado poached eggs w/bernaise sauce split and served on 2 plates. She went out of her way to bring us a steak knife as well!
This is your typical small town place. The food is quality and enjoyable. Shout out to the homemade chips which are crispy and delightful. You can get sandwiches and salads. My wife got a salad and we both really enjoyed it. I got a sandwich which was average but very enjoyable. Got a little bit of the raspberry lemonade which was delicious. Friend had a coffee which I did not try. Overall, for a small town place this is better than average, but in comparison to most places just average. It would not be a must visit, but a happy to visit again place.
