Crema's Take
“Passaggio draws a steady crowd in Tucson with its inviting outdoor seating and unhurried, social atmosphere—the kind of place where you can linger over traditional Italian drinks and conversation. The kitchen shines brightest with standout starters like bruschetta and those famous brussels sprouts, though opinions split on the heartier mains, and the pricing leans upscale for what some feel it delivers. It's a beautiful spot for a leisurely evening, especially if you snag a seat by the pizza bar to watch the kitchen's craft unfold.”

Recommend: brussel sprouts Ok: polenta, venison The food was good, but for the high end price, I felt it didn't meet the high end standard. Venison was overly salty. I ordered it medium and rare but chef recommends rare. I don't think I could have eaten it rare given the texture (center felt quite slimy) but the ends did end up a little tough. The sauces/purees were nice but I think overly sweet against the venison Brussel sprouts were delicious if a little on the oily side. Polenta was creamy but pretty bland and was more of what I would expect from grits rather than polenta. I think of polenta being a much finer grind on the corn and being more even consistency throughout. And this was a coarser grind suspended in a thick gravy.
A beautiful evening out at the Marriott. The appetizer was incredible, the mains as well. Had to refire the scallops but they made it right. The service was top shelf!
Really tasty food and nice service. The prime rib gnocchi and meat ball tasted good. Recommend Bruschetta - refreshing and offered a variety of flavors. Calamari fritto was so bland.
Restaurant was full so we sat at the pizza bar which was great to view how everything was prepared. We had the pepperoni and the margarita pizza both were great. I also had a Sonoran Amber beer which I regret because at $10 for one pint that was expensive but I wanted to try it. Since I am of Platinum status through Marriott Bonvoy we received a complimentary Caramel crunch cake for desert which we both shared....that ended the meal perfectly.
Stayed at the Marriott and ate here both nights. Excellent wine selection, excellent pasta selections and wonderful starters. Only downside was the pizza oven was down so didn't get to try it. Ate once at the bar, and once at the table...and I actually prefered the bar area. The Charred Octopus starter was probably the highlight from the meals, but they also have an excellent pappardelle. Extremely nice Italian restaurant where you can enjoy a great meal.
