Crema's Take

Tucked into Waimea's Kohala region, this sister-run coffee operation operates out of a gleaming vintage Airstream trailer that's already earning serious buzz despite being just a couple months old. Beyond the charming setup, they're winning hearts with genuinely excellent breakfast sandwiches and creative specialty drinks like their standout Haupia Mocha—a coconutty, chocolatey iced coffee that tastes as thoughtfully made as the owners' passion for their Big Island roots. It's the kind of place where the friendly service and local pride in every cup make you want to linger, whether you're grabbing a quick caffeine boost or settling in with a full breakfast.

Great little spot on the Big Island! Definitely a top 5 breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had, super fresh and great flavor.

While up in Kohala we swung by Seabird Coffee ☕️ for breakfast and a pick-me-up. You’ll see the cute, gleaming Airstream camper as you approach. At present, they’re 2 months new and already building a reputation for producing great drinks and delectable food. We picked up a hot caramel latte, iced matcha 🍵 hibiscus latte, their brekky sandwich, burrito, and their sweet creation - the cinnamon roll waffle. We feel like we hit the jackpot of breakfast spots. Emma and Celeste are friendly and focused on customer service with aloha and a smile. While there are a few tables in the space they share with Ocean Sports, it’s also perfect as takeaway for enjoying at a nearby beach. When you’re in the area during their operating hours, do yourself a favor and stop by.

Tried the Haupia Mocha iced. It had a lovely coffee chocolatey coconutty flavor! Loved chatting with the owner and hearing about how she started her business with her sister. Will come back to try cookies 🍪

Friendly service and a great flat white with a delicious choc chip and mac nut cookie from a charming vintage style airstream trailer. Highly recommended to stop by if you’re in the area.

Seabird Coffee is an absolute gem on the Big Island. This little chrome trailer is run by two sisters who grew up just minutes away, and you can feel that sense of local pride in everything they make. The coffee is excellent and elevated by their house-made syrups. Their sandwiches are fresh and handmade, but the real showstopper is the macadamia nut chocolate chunk cookie… truly divine. The location is super easy to find and only a quick drive from the Waikoloa resorts. If you're staying in the area, make this your morning stop.
