Extra Fine Southtown
812 S Presa St, San Antonio, TX
Crema's Take
“This cozy Southtown gem earns serious loyalty for its Cuban sandwich (seriously, people come back for it) and expertly-pulled espresso drinks like cappuccinos and cortados that hit the mark. Beyond the coffee, it's a genuine gathering spot with abundant seating and a rotating lineup of stellar pastries and breakfast items that justify multiple visits, though note that parking can be tight in the neighborhood.”

I’m leaving this review because I want this business to thrive and I love the location, but management needs to address the "customer friction" being created. The parking situation is a major deterrent; the rear lot is a disgusting mess, and blocking off all of the street parking makes arrival unnecessarily difficult. Furthermore, the service is far too inconsistent for the price point. The high cost needs to be matched by a seamless experience and reliable service, neither of which are currently being met.
We loved the Extra Fine Bakery. We were in San Antonio for a weekend and our AirBnb was within walking distance. We ended up visiting four times. We loved the sweets for breakfast, the Cuban sandwiches and the coffee. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Love! Cute little Southtown spot. I got a cappuccino and enjoyed it, and also tried my friend’s cortado which was really good. Rob is super cool and the baristas work very hard here to make everything in house. I can’t wait to come back!
Nice cozy spot for coffee and pastries where you can do homework or meet up with a friend. Plenty of comfy seating options. There are a few sandwich and side options as well as baked goods. Coffee is delicious. Parking is in the back.
DELICIOUS!! If you can only get one thing: get the Cuban. So. Good. We also got a breakfast sando and the strawberry pistachio cake/pie. Those were fine, but that Cuban. Loved it! Tonnes of seating inside and some cute cafe tables out. Looking forward to trying a muffin and coffee. Free parking in the back and street parking as well. Our waitress/cashier/server was super friendly and quick to serve. We will be back!
