Amazing match place hidden in little Tokyo. The soft serve ice cream was magnificent, I highly recommend it. The service was excellent, really sweet people.
This was literally my first time trying matcha, and I actually really liked it. I was told it’s usually not sweet, so I asked for extra sweetener on top of the sweet version. The flavor was a bit strong, but the added sweetness made it much more enjoyable. Would def try it again! We went around noon on a weekday and it was packed. Parking is definitely a hassle here.
This is the most unforgettable matcha ice cream I have ever had! It tastes so soft ,creamy and smooth in ur mouth. Neither too bitter nor sweet! It’s a great thing to have a cup of this matcha ice cream after eating the Uni pasta nearby and walk along the way back to our car. Relaxing ☺️
4.5/5 ### Tea Master Matcha: A Serene Slice of Serenity in Downtown LA. Park on the street and avoid paid parking! Nestled in the bustling heart of downtown Los Angeles, Tea Master Matcha offers a tranquil escape from the city's relentless energy. Tucked away on a quieter stretch of Spring Street, this cozy spot specializes in ceremonial-grade matcha, sourced directly from small farms in Uji, Japan. The minimalist decor—bamboo accents, soft lighting, and low wooden tables—evokes a traditional tea house, providing a rare pocket of calm amid the skyscrapers. From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshly whisked matcha greets you like an old friend. Their signature Ceremonial Bowl ($8) is a standout: vibrant green, velvety foam crowning a rich, umami-packed elixir that's not overly bitter, thanks to precise shading techniques. For those new to matcha, the Matcha Latte ($6) blends seamlessly with oat milk, adding a subtle sweetness without overpowering the earthiness. Pair it with their house-made matcha mochi ($4)—pillowy, chewy, and dusted with edible gold leaf—for a perfect bite-sized indulgence. The staff, led by owner Miko Tanaka, a certified tea master with over a decade of experience, elevates the visit. She's passionate about educating guests on matcha's health benefits, from antioxidants to focus-enhancing L-theanine, without ever feeling preachy. Service is attentive yet unhurried, making solo sippers and groups alike feel welcome. That said, the limited menu might disappoint adventurous eaters—no full savory options here, just light bites like matcha-infused rice cakes. And at peak hours (lunch rushes), the small space can feel snug. Still, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise flawless experience. Tea Master Matcha earns a solid 4.5/5. It's not just a cafe; it's a mindful ritual worth seeking out. Whether you're a matcha devotee or a curious newbie, this downtown gem brews moments of pure zen.
My friends and I saw people with these soft serve matcha ice creams and they looked real good, so we stopped by. The best matcha ice cream I’ve ever had so far. Delicious soft serve and the matcha flavor was on point! I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.
