Crema's Take

Tucked beside the Frist Art Museum, this café excels at transforming a casual coffee stop into a memorable meal, with standout brunch dishes like Eggs in a Basket and a Whipped Feta baguette that clearly overshadow typical museum café fare. The warm, light-filled space with large windows invites you to linger over house-made pastries and fresh limeade whether you're fueling up before art or settling in for an unhurried conversation with friends. Their homemade approach—from on-site baked scones to made-to-order comfort food—paired with genuine, attentive service makes this feel less like a grab-and-go spot and more like a neighborhood gathering place.

Good place for a snack post museum visit. I had a regular coffee and a cheddar and chive scone, which I believe was baked on site. They offer a fairly comprehensive menu of snack / lunch items, plus coffees and baked good. Super friendly staff. Sorry no photo, I ate it too fast. 😁

Wonderful Cafe attached to Frist Art Museum! Highly recommend going here as part of your museum visit or even if you are in the area looking for a nice lunch spot to sit and talk with friends! They have a great selection of baked goods and make coffee to order. I ordered the mushroom confit sandwich. It was delicious. The space is airy and welcoming.

Today I had the Eggs in a Basket at the Café. Exceeded my expectations tenfold. Hands down, the best brunch I've had in the state. I gobbled it up so quickly, I forgot to take a photo the first time! The casual bistro vibe with plenty of natural light is perfect for brunch. This café has a chef... not just a cook ... who will share his love of beautiful and delicious food with you. This is not your average microwave meat and Wonder bread toast kind of place. Every bite of our brunch was to be savored and shared. I can't wait to go back!! Oh, their giant cookies are A-MAZING!

After looking around the museum, we decided to eat here. The atmosphere is great: large windows, warm lights, and the restaurant is clean and tidy. The staff took our order without issue. The whipped feta baguette sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've had; I highly recommend it. The avocado toast (Saturday brunch special) was also delicious: the egg was fried crispy on the outside, but perfectly cooked and soft on the inside. The food presentation was spectacular. However, the mocha latte was very sweet, and almost undrinkable. The other drinks we ordered (iced coffee, matcha latte, cappuccino) were good. The meals are more on the expensive side. We highly recommend this café!

The Whipped Feta baguette sandwich and tomato soup were AMAZING. The home fries are killer, too. Homemade limeade was the bomb, too! They have coffee and pastries as well! Sam behind the counter checked us out and made the food to PERFECTION. Stop by when you're visiting or even if you're not coming to the Frist. Couldn't be more satisfied.
