Crema's Take

Mammoth Espresso is an espresso-focused destination where knowledgeable baristas nail the fundamentals—perfectly steamed milk, vibrant shots, and thoughtfully sourced beans that stick with you long after you leave. The shop manages the rare feat of feeling both quiet and energetic at once, with quality La Marzocco equipment and a welcoming approach that works equally well for serious coffee lovers diving into pour overs or folks just wanting an exceptionally made flat white. Every cup comes with a touch of New Orleans charm, like the complimentary Topo Chico that arrives with your espresso.

If you are an espresso lover, this is a great spot. The baristas are knowledgeable and helpful and mostly importantly good at the craft. The shop is quite and busy at the same time. Quiet enough to get some work done on your computer or have a conversation with friends but busy at the same time with what seems like a consistent mix of locals and visitors walking up to order every couple of minutes. The vibes are good and so is the coffee. It gets five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mammoth has some of the best beans in the city. The baristas are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The menu is also approachable and has options for those looking for a unique pour over, interesting signature drink, or something more traditional. My favorite is the New Old Fashion!

First class gourmet coffee shop. Espresso comes with a glass of topo chico without asking. Nice Marzocco equipment. Two varieties of espresso available by the cup, with coffee descriptions on cards at the counter. Bags of coffee and tea include good descriptions. Mellow acoustic music. Simple green growy atmosphere. Walkable from downtown. Outdoor and expansion seating available. Diverse friendly. Street parking with availability. AC, bathrooms. Tap water upon asking. Pastries early in the morning. I do not see high chairs. Flat entry from street with inclines so accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.

Really good quality coffee shop! As a barista, I have very high standards and I definitely enjoyed my flat white here! The milk was steamed very well and the espresso flavor was quite nice. I didn’t realize it was quite so small inside, but there was still seating available. On a Friday morning it was very chill — super quiet inside and it seemed like multiple people were studying or working. It was so quiet that I felt like I needed to talk extra quietly, haha. Definitely give this place a visit when in New Orleans!

Haven't been here since Feb 2021. I never wrote a review. But when I looked back at my "Old Fashioned Espresso" photo. The fact that I can remember just how delicious this coffee was and desire another one over 4+ years now, means how great this really was. If I lived in Nola I would be here all the time!!!
