Bear Coast Coffee
34201 Street of the Amber Lantern Unit B, Laguna Niguel, CA
Crema's Take
“This Laguna Niguel gem prioritizes the human connection as much as the espresso, with a genuinely warm staff led by Josh who make regulars feel like old friends. Their homemade almond milk and carefully executed lattes (never over-steamed) pair beautifully with craveable light bites like their feta egg sandwich, making it an ideal spot to linger over specialty drinks or catch up with friends. The newer location offers a real upgrade in comfort and seating while maintaining that intimate, hole-in-the-wall soul that made Bear Coast special in the first place.”

We visited Bear Coffee in Dana Point and ordered a vanilla iced latte and an Americano. The vanilla iced latte was okay, but unfortunately the Americano was completely undrinkable, which was disappointing since it’s such a simple coffee to make well. The service also didn’t feel good there was very little connection with customers, and the overall energy felt disengaged. The place has potential, but our experience left us disappointed.
This is my favorite coffee shop ever! Their homemade almond milk is absolutely delicious and they’ve never over heat my latte. The staff is always so warm and welcoming! like I’m saying hello to friends and family.! can’t send us about this place that I consider home
Bear Coast Coffee is such a special spot. The coffee, food, and ambiance are all top notch, but the real difference maker is how incredibly warm & caring Josh and the entire BC Staff has been. We spent a month in Dana Point, and hit Bear Coast almost every day… partially for the caffeine, but more so for the wonderful community. Can’t recommend this place enough! 100/5 stars!
I was in Dana Point for three days and happened to find Bear Coast Coffee when I needed a mid-morning snack on day one. And my love affair with their feta egg sandwich was born, and I went back and had it the next two days. Seriously the best egg sandwich I've ever had! And the chai lattes weren't bad either. 😄
I’ve been kinda expecting them to move for a while. While the plaza location was a great hole-in-the-wall to get them off the ground, this location is the much needed upgrade. Central, great seating and patio, and in a brand new building. I’m big on exposure and it gets the best sunlight for the morning hours and shade during the hot summer afternoons. Coffee is great and the baristas know what they’re doing. There isn’t a ton of coffee shops in Dana Point so this is a must try.
