Crema's Take

Provisions Thirteen is a laid-back neighborhood spot in Springfield where smooth, flavorful espresso and genuinely excellent breakfast sandwiches are the real stars—the kind of place where you can comfortably settle in for hours with your laptop or linger over a meal without feeling rushed out. The space itself is welcoming with good seating variety and an inviting vibe that works equally well for a quick coffee stop or a longer hang, though fair warning: the kitchen can get backed up during busy times, so patience is part of the experience. What keeps people coming back is the combination of quality coffee, standout breakfast fare, and a staff that clearly cares, even when they're stretched thin.

I ordered the beet burger and was served avocado that was visibly and unmistakably moldy. The smell was sour, the taste was off, and it was clearly not safe to eat. When I brought this to the front desk with my plate and laptop, the staff member brushed it off and told me “that’s just how they get,” as if I couldn’t tell the difference between ripe and spoiled food. There was no real concern for food safety, no apology, and no attempt to understand what went wrong, just a quick refund to end the interaction. A refund does not erase the fact that I was served spoiled produce and then treated as though I was overreacting. The dismissive attitude worried me more than the initial mistake because it made it feel like this was normal rather than unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I would strongly encourage management to take food handling and basic customer respect much more seriously.

Food was exceptional. Employees are absolutely fantastic. However, they are drastically understaffed, and the service was really slow. It took 35 minutes for breakfast sandwiches to arrive at our table. If you’re not hungry when you arrive or in a rush, this is a great spot.

Place hits the mark: good seating variety, useful from morning through night, easy to settle into for a quick stop or a longer stretch. The only thing missing is true breakfast all day, the space invites it.

Really good spot! The coffee is awesome super smooth and flavorful. Their breakfast sandwiches are seriously amazing, definitely some of the best I've had. Great place to chill, grab a bite, or even hang out later for a drink. Definitely recommend checking it out.

This was my first try dining here, stopped in for lunch and got a chicken Caesar salad. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. The chicken a bit dry, and the black charred outer layer of the breast meat gave me more of a dirty grill flavor than a true chargrilled chicken breast, as was evident with the black dust left on my finished plate. Staff were friendly, service was descent, and I'll likely eat here again and maybe give something else a try. Their coffee and mochas are delicious, which is what I've ordered on previous visits. Went back for another lunch visit, this time had the Fox Hollow from menu which is a turkey, pesto, brei on focaccia with salad. It was descent but the aioli sauce didn't have any flavor or it was overpowered by the pesto. It was good. How 'bout them tiny water cups...and the small water supply? Head scratcher....
