Crema's Take

Lotta Studio is a creative hub that treats coffee as a welcome companion rather than the main event, serving thoughtfully sourced espresso from Happiness Project while doubling as an artist-run gallery and event space in Westville. Beyond the excellent coffee and homemade pastries, you're really paying a visit to a living studio where local makers gather, markets pop up, and the ambiance shifts between quiet concentration and community energy depending on the day. It's the kind of place where your cappuccino tastes better because you're surrounded by actual creative work happening around you.

A Westville gem nestled in Historic New Haven near to SCSU and Woodbridge. Great coffee. Delicious muffins and sandwiches. Friendly staff. Affordable prices. Great ambiance. Interesting gallery.

A terrific co-working space with delicious coffee to enjoy either in their small front cafe, on the go, or anywhere in the space if you're a member. I love The Range so much. It has attracted an incredible community of creatives and entrepreneurs (that is always growing) that I feel so lucky to meet and rub elbows with whenever I stop by. Their bagels are the bomb with avocado and salt and pepper!!

As someone both really into coffee and a New Haven resident, this place serves some of the best in our little city. But that's not what this place is about. It's an art gallery, some stuff you can buy with some stuff just on display, and it's a space where some people come and work on stuff. Beautifully decorated with interesting objects, it's just a place I find myself being drawn to and not wanting to leave.

Today Lotta was hosting the Anti-Mall local creative's market. A great place to buy custom and unique holiday gifts. They often curate markets and creative events in their space. The studio has great gallery walls with rotating artwork in the back, and a nice little espresso bar (even a few gf, DF treats!) upfront. It is also a co-working space so the venue often feels abuzz with creative energy and eclectic projects and brainstorms. Great for a just a sip of coffee, or to get acquainted with our local creative network!

They serve very good coffee from the Happiness Project in downtown New Haven. That's really just the tip of the iceberg however. Beyond that it is a co-working space primarily intended for artists, but they do accept others. It is nice and quiet inside, which was a must for me as I have been spending my time there studying for a test. The people working there are friendly and the owners, Misti and Luke, are wonderful.
